To me, this just makes the U.S look incompetent....
We have never needed the UN to monitor before, why start now??
It makes us look weak to the other countries.....
In the OP article, it said that 44 people were going to be sent over here....
Soooo......which polls are they going to "monitor"?
Just curious how they are going to choose, unless they pick the states that are the "high stake" states...
And the gov. of Texas told them that according to the law, they must obey the perimeters set around the polling stations.
Also the Texas’ State Attorney General Greg Abbott has threatened to arrest any United Nations election monitors who violate Texas Elections Law in the run up to the General Election on November 6th.
[Don't Mess With Texas]
"Come on, I dare you", he says to the UN official, "I dare you to step across THIS line......". hee,hee
Oh boy, I can see the headlines now:
"Texas arrests 2 dozen UN officials...all hell has broke loose"
[just kidding for those that don't know it's a joke]

I think it's hysterically funny that the 2 monitors they are sending to Texas are being sent to Austin - the most far left leaning city in the state. They are coming to make sure conservatives don't prevent anyone from voting. Hell's bell's, I don't think there are any conservatives in Austin!

Yep ! You are totally misinformed .Research what the UN document Agenda 21 says then see how you feel .
Humanity stands at a defining moment in history. We are confronted with a perpetuation of disparities between and within nations, a worsening of poverty, hunger, ill health and illiteracy, and the continuing deterioration of the ecosystems on which we depend for our well-being. However, integration of environment and development concerns and greater attention to them will lead to the fulfillment of basic needs, improved living standards for all, better protected and managed ecosystems and a safer, more prosperous future. No nation can achieve this on its own; but together we can - in a global partnership for sustainable development.
10.5. The broad objective is to facilitate allocation of land to the uses that provide the greatest sustainable benefits and to promote the transition to a sustainable and integrated management of land resources. In doing so, environmental, social and economic issues should be taken into consideration. Protected areas, private property rights, the rights of indigenous people and their communities and other local communities and the economic role of women in agriculture and rural development, among other issues, should be taken into account.
Establish and develop local, national and intersectoral mechanisms to handle environmental and develop mental consequences of land tenure expressed in terms of land use and land ownership. Particular attention should be given to protecting the property rights of women and pastoral and nomadic groups living in rural areas;
Implement policies to influence land tenure and property rights positively with due recognition of the minimum size of land-holding required to maintain production and check further fragmentation;
Rural areas provide energy supplies in the form of wood. The full potential of agriculture and agroforestry, as well as common property resources, as sources of renewable energy, is far from being realized. The attainment of sustainable rural development is intimately linked with energy demand and supply patterns.

Maybe the easiest thing to do is to look up Sustainable Development . That is the supposed basis for the NWO . There are also some videos that deals with Agenda 21 on youtube by some very smart people . If the trashing of your Constitution and Bill of Rights and the re -writing of your rights as a person by Banksters bent on absolute power is ok with you it's going to be great , for you ! Your lack of interest has facilitated their ability to conquer you . But you are not alone the most of the people are ok as long as they can get their beer and cigarettes and cable .

They are there as a neutral party to make sure your elections are fair and square.
If you did kick the UN out you would become a very lonely super power.
But just because one nutty congressman says they should doesn't mean they will.edit on 28-10-2012 by boymonkey74 because: (no reason given)
The UN has destroyed all sovereignty in America. The UN is a domestic enemy of the US Constitution. The UN and anyone who supports it can go directly to HELL. America's elections are none of the UN's business. In fact, NOTHING America does is the UN's business. If it wasn't for American taxpayers footing the bill, there would be no UN.
But you feel that foreign elections are the US's business, right?
