Sexual interaction with a girl at 15 years old is not pedophilia. It may not be healthy (but then again some relationships between 40 year olds are unhealthy) but it is a far cry from pedophilia. People need to stop pretending 15 year old girls aren't actively and knowingly seeking interactions with older men.

I met a girl when I was much younger who said she was 17 (legal age of consent) but was 15. We did nothing thankfully and I told her exactly why, but we remained friends and I heard her talk about all the men in the local military base she was hooking up with as well as a 32 year old guy she picked up at a bar (at 16) who helped her "reach heaven" for the first time. She wasn't confessing painful experiences... she was bragging and never once regretted any of them. The miscarriages were just part of the process. Her mother was fully aware and *let* me take her out when she knew her daughter was lying to me about her age. It baffled me but there was nothing anyone could have said to make her stop. Most of the guys believed she was of legal age at the time because she just lied and got a fake ID. She's married with kids now. *shrug*

The sooner we stop trying to pretend teenage girls are something they are not the sooner we can actualy provide a more healthy outlet for them to explore their sexuality. But no... we have to keep playing this absurd game of pretend and ignore the other half of the equation. All while teenage girls continue to excitedly use their bodies to get what they want like all the grown up women they see... but can't get real advice on it because many adults who scream the loudest want to go "lalala" and the girls realize they will be demonized by the same adults "helping them" and would like to seek advice from if they told the full truth.

Youre right, it isnt but it is against the law and very dangerous. There are some modern first world countries where 15 or 16 is the age of consent.
Only the law makes every one scream child molester to ppl caught with girls of those ages.
However, this girl was 12 when all this started, so yea, he broke the law in a big way when he posted 12 yr old boobies on the internet.

Wow this is retarded, people are trying to find someone, a scapegoat to blame the death, a SUICIDE. This was 95% the girls fault.

You live in a time where if you make a single mistake online, it would be in the permanent database. Even if you have a normal Facebook page photo, it would be stored forever, a simple Google search would bring your page/photo. Try it.

She is no normal teenager, i been thru teenage life as well and so many others too. We all have our limit and how far we push it, she broke the limit and could not handle the results herself and thus her mind chose its better if she killed herself, and thus we have the results.

She could not handle her teenage life(this includes what we ALL go thru... bullies, abuse, peer pressure etc), its her fault for choosing a cowardice way

Now she is a hero? and ban the internet? please.

I would worry more about a struggling teen in a 3rd world country who is trying to meet the end, but is about to die by the time i finish writing this sentence.

This is an example of Survival of the mentally fit, maybe.

The anonymous way is not about truth and justice..it is about hypocrisy , deceit and bullying .

I can only hope that the good members will start realizing this, and call out the members who are hypocrites, liars, and pedo's.

But will they? are they just as bad as the cops who cover up the crimes of fellow officers , while charging those who are guilty of far less crime ?

It's such a messy area... which is why the witch hunt mentality is so dangerous without acknowledging that even 12 year old girls are actively seeking sexual interactions with boys or men and will lie about their age and can fool people pretty well. I was thankfully (in hind sight) raised quite sheltered so I managed to avoid getting into the same trouble some people around me did (having kids in high school, etc). However at 12 I had female cousins and friends my age talking oral sex and details that at the time I couldn't understand but now realize they were genuinely and truly active. This was a couple of decades ago so before the influence of the internet and easy access porn. In elementary school girls were doing strip teases where I freaked and ran away because "you aren't supposed to do that!!!!". Another elementary aged girl asked to watch some VHS porn she found and wanted all the boys to tell her how large they were. This was the 80's. It's not the internet... it's people.

We have got to stop lying to ourselves, otherwise we're going to continue leaving it up to kids to fumble through this in a world where the stakes for a mis-step are much more rapid and wide spread. Fixing this problem STARTS with educating girls and boys honestly about their sexuality, not the cartoon network version most kids get and know is crap long before their parents even realize they have sexual thoughts. That way kids know how to walk away as well as the potential repercussions *before* they act.

We don't let kids figure out how to drive cars on their own... yet we basically leave one of the most volatile and emotionally powerful experience humans have to kids to figure out on their own with "tools" the kids know are garbage before they've been given them. We then stand around wondering why there is so much disfunction and confusion for both girls/boys and men/women. Same reason we'd have a mess in the streets if kids could just go grab cars and start teaching each other how to drive without genuine healthy honest guidance.

I've just read up on this case, and after thinking about it for a little while, I have to ask... where were HER PARENTS?

This angers me every time. A parent is responsible for their child. Why did their underage child have access to a computer with a webcam? Why was she allowed to go on to all these sites and do all of this at her age? Why did her parents think it was okay to let her read through all the stuff being posted about her?

I don't care how liberal you are, the parents have to accept a lot of blame here. Yes it is tragic, but I am so sick of people treating parents as though they never do anything wrong!

Her parents should never have given her the opportunity to be flashing over the internet on a webcam to begin with, and the fact that this doesn't even seem to be an issue to people is perhaps the real problem here.

It's one thing to give kids freedom, but quite another to abandon all your responsibility as a parent and allow them to involve themselves in anything they like on the internet.

This should be a message to all parents - get that cam off the computer. Put the PC in the family room where the use of it can be monitored. Don't be buying your kids the latest iPhone when a basic one does what you need it to do (call and text).

And this goes for those doing the attacking too. In my day if I'd ever picked on someone at school my parents would have been called in and I would have been punished. Why the hell are all these spoiled little brats given unmonitored access to the internet to attack anyone they feel like attacking?!

There shouldn't need to be any new laws in place here, there should just be a demand that parents actually do their f'ing job!

TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN CHILDREN!

Even from this thread you can see so many people thing that girls in the ages 14-17 is like angels and babies and innocents, yes there are those that still exist, but trust me, times have changed.

Even when i was in high school, girls my age at that time(13-14ish) were trying to hook up with older men, and i never seen these guys in school, and they have a car etc... i remember one girl got pregnant and was crying, and an older girl helped her out.

With the current media and lifestyles, parents gotta be extra careful around their "little angels".

my niece who is 9 yrs old, asked me about 4chan... i asked her who told you about it, she said her friend xxxxx told her. Soon as she said that i went to her computer and look at the record, yup, she typed 4chan on the address bar but didn't get the full name right.

Now her computer is fully restricted and i told my sister to pay extra attention to her kids and their time on the internet.

Thats great news ,really good job done by anonymous I've heard that he was a pedophile. I hope this man will be prosecuted , but mostly they come out clean those bastards.

She was very courageous and I really love that she made that video,” her father Norm told the Vancouver Sun. “She told me why she made it — she wanted to send a message out so that it wouldn’t happen to someone else, so no one would have to go through what she went through [...] She did that on her own and her message is being delivered now. It makes me happy that her voice is still alive and being heard."

Only I think that ATS wouldn't had to replace the thread I made earlier in the off topic breaking news.

And now what? They are going to destroy his life?

When will we as a species realize that this eye for an eye thing leaves us without a vision of a future?

Yes, he should be held responsible for whatever legal crimes he committed, but he should not be demonized and tormented. What does it say about us if we must inflict the same horrors upon those who have harmed us? We are no better if we do not make a change somewhere in the flow of causality.

Well maybe it will make more girls aware of things like this. It may stop them from posting pics or being on vids topless etc. Even if its only a few its helped its still better than none..

Like I said..some within anonymous are far more guilty of what they judge others for...and quite frankly it leaves me with little or no respect for the whole lot of them, which is most likely unfair on my part...because I'm sure there are some good ones.

I never said that any of them were good or bad. I was simply stating that this incident is a good thing. Because it may wake people up. The tragic death of this poor girl may help many people.

Yes some Anons are bad, some are good.. But this is not about the peoples behind Anon. This is about getting justice for one of the many victims of different types of bullying..

Agreed.

The biggest difference between now and "back then" is kids have the ability to use the internet to find out much faster their parents are fudging the truth if not outright lying to them and feeding them a line of crap that even the parent's generation never lived up to. Otherwise the basic behavior is the same. However the awareness they aren't alone in their feelings and thoughts has expanded multiple orders of magnitudes, and the tools for finding others to explore with them have become trivial to use.

In the long run all of this will shake out and those who survive and prosper as kids today will know better how to inform their own children how to successfully navigate a world where you know ahead of time anything you do, especially online, is capable of reaching the entire planet before you realize it's even been leaked. Eventually avoiding casually sharing nude pictures/video you aren't comfortable being seen by everyone will fall into the same "duh" bucket as not giving your address to random strangers you meet in alleys.

This guy has been made an example of. And maybe, just maybe people might think twice before they re-post intimate, private pictures. Unless of course, they want the wrath of Anonymous bearing down on them..

He has also threatened to blow up where I live as well as blow up where my children live. It makes me sic to my stomach watching his tweets on getting justice for amanda , because he is far worse.

This is no kid...this is supposedly a 62 year old man, but I actually think he lives under a stolen identity..but I'm not sure about that.

Like I said..some within anonymous are far more guilty of what they judge others for...and quite frankly it leaves me with little or no respect for the whole lot of them, which is most likely unfair on my part...because I'm sure there are some good ones.

I admit I was the total idiot for sending pics like that, and naive enough to believe he would never use them against me...so lesson learned on my part.

I could go on and on about the disgusting levels this guy will stoop to...but I think I've made my point about why I have little respect for anon.

Hard to trust anyone anymore, isnt it? You werent an idiot to trust someone, you were an idiot to do it after deliberation.

I agree completely.. bullies bullying bullies are still bullies. Specifically since Anon has disclosed WRONG info on innocent folks in the past in their rush to be coolest on the interwebs.Claiming "we arent an organized group" "we have no leadership" and all of that nonsense really isnt a blanket that abdicates responsibility each person has for promoting and being affiliated with the "bad anon". If you are anon and are many... then stand and be counted with your legion.

Some of the comments on this thread are naive bordering on ignorant.

Which came first, school girls with loose reputations or social media?

It is a shame the girl didn't have the hope to find another way out but this is certainly not a new phenomena. Kids are mean, it has been that way since the beginning of human civilisation and it wont be changing any-time soon

Some of this story is highly suspect, the police don't make house-calls at 4:00 AM to let you know somebody posted a photo of your breasts on facebook.

As 15 is under the age of consent they would have opened and pursued an investigation regardless of the age of the perpetrator.

Distribution of topless child photo's aside, when the police have reasonable suspicion to believe an assault has been committed they file charges regardless of whether the victim wishes to press the issue.

If there was actually a crime, the police need to handle it. If the allegations are true the perpetrator will pay much more dearly in prison than any self proclaimed Amanda Todd vigilante is going to accomplish

This business of the pimple faced Mafia doxing someone with the accusation that they are a paedophile is ludicrous, irresponsible and dangerous.

At any given time 4chan B is inundated with child pornography images, I'm sure all of you Anon fans know the mantra on B......

Why is the 4chan culture of heckling young girls daily to expose themselves to strangers alright but this guy has crossed the line?

Because with you all 4chan/Anon people its just for the "lulz" but this other guy is a serious pedo creep, right?

For those of you who insist on trying to destroy somebodies life who has not been charged with anything, why not try something new. At least have the character to identify yourself as an accuser rather than hiding behind a computer screen name pretending to be something that your not.

When it comes down to it few people have the guts to look somebody in the eye and make the kind of accusations that get tossed around the Internet.

I would also point out that turnabout is fair play. If you can find someone's info then they can find yours as well not everybody is as ineffectual as Jesse Slaughter's deceased father.

If somebody turns up at one of your front doors swinging a baseball bat and screaming "consequences will never be the same" I'd say you probably have every bit it coming.

If true, in a nutshell you have one side of the story from a already emotionally troubled teenage girl voluntarily participating in adult behaviours that she clearly was not mature enough to handle and the other half of the story, such as why there have been no arrests, is a mystery.

consequences will never be the same

so true (got that from noagenda right?), this whole story is a media meme and cover up. the real issue is ritalin and all those other drugs we as adults feed to our kids. It's saver to take cocain then to be on ritalin xanax and all those other horrible anti depressants. If i give my kid ritalin i'm a good parent but give em some marihuana then you're a criminal...... really? And no i do not give my kids anything, I talk with my kids you know about problems we all had at that age. That anonymous is even giving a crap is a bit too strange for me, isn't "the law " working on this case? Or is anonymous "the law"?

I agree. I recall junior high/high school. It was a mix of emotion and hormones for everyone. There were plenty of girls who would give guys what they want and everyone knew who they were. Many times one or both of their parents enabled them to be the way they were.

It was extremely lax parenting if you can even call it that.

The thing now is we have the internet and you see a lot more of it even though the numbers are roughly the same. Sure you could add a few more because of how easy it is, sort of like bait car. Some who would not steal a car because of the normal work will steal one if the keys are in it. In this case some girls are more willing to expose their bodies because it is easier to do so.

This is the same with bullies. Now it is a bit easier so you will have a few more and they may go a step further than they used to. The thing is much of it would not be said face to face as it used to have to be done for fear of getting pounded into the ground at that moment.

Add to this a more coddled world and we seem to have a more volatile cocktail than there once was.

Technology is great, I love it, it has made things much easier for all walks of life. Some of those walks are darker than others though. We should not regulate nor get rid of the technology. What we should do is educate that since it is now easier there will be a slight increase in the amount and depth and explain that posting online is permanent. We also need to get better at helping people get through what is bothering them instead of trying to make it go away. Bullies have been and always will be there, the best thing we can do is find ways to get through the hard times.

This is a really scary area that has made me rethink alot about bullying online. I am 33 and I have a sister who is 35. She was pretty rock and roll back when she was 15 (smoking and drinking, going clubbing etc). She hung out with guys in their mid twenties. But we didnt have the internet back in those days. I also now have a sister who is 15 and on facebook. I see the posts between her and her friends and combined with this topic it makes me think just how easy it is for bullying to occur online without parents knowing. My little boy is nearly two years old and i am a network engineer so when he grows up i hope that either their is some new laws on this or i have set up the best home proxy server ever!

People are just so mean. Why couldnt they just let this girl get on with her life? She was too young to understand what she was doing and how to cope with it. I really dont know why the parenta didnt ban her from the internet after the first incident. How did her classmates at the second or third place they moved to even find out about it? I am presuming someone searched fr her name.

Social media is such a dichotomy. On the one hand it allows people in tyrannical regimes to openly communicate but on the other it enables things like cyber bullying. I dont think humanity could cope with true freedom yet. We would rip ourselves to shreds because the people who bullied this girl would be the ones to ruin it.

Thought i would say something provocative at the end there! (I am being brave as i am a noob on here and havent said much really yet! Lol)......time to get off the fence and all that!
