Can someone tell me what het difference is in these 2 sentences written by romney supporter Clifford Russell from Bedford, Virginia?

I did not say that I wanted to execute parents on welfare and give their kids up for adoption.

I said that it would be better to execute the parents of an illegitimate child and put their child up for adoption.

They follow each other in his reply at the link above - apparently he thinks they mean different things, but I don't see what those 2 different things are.

He expands it below:

The Democratic Party and Progressives know illegitimate children are a problem. Bill Clinton is very proud he got reduced costs for birth control. New York Major Bloomberg proposed a program to pay fathers to not abandon their responsibility to their children.

Now that it has been confirmed illegitimate children are a problem, the next question is what is the solution. I believe executing the parents is a better solution than the Democratic solution of abortion and handing out condoms (birth control).

and

I believe in personal responsibility thus I believe the policy of America should be to execute the parents of illegitimate children and put the children up for adoption. I advocate America make it a capital federal crime under Civil Law for people to fail to provide for their children. I believe all Socialistic Programs should be phased out to stop people from using these program to justify their abandoning their responsibility to their children.

The Bible is very clear on this issue. I Timothy 5:8 states, "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."

Poverty is not proof of sin, but sin should be considered when there is poverty. I Corinthians 11:30-31 says, "For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged."

So the bible is being used to justify executing unwed parents??

WTF?????

there can't be that many stupid republicans....
either someone is making up stories, or the republicans have decided that they don't want to win the elections...
but there is no way all these republicans can be coming out of the woodwork and saying this kind of crazy stuff!! not this close to elections....

It's Bedford, Virginia btw. It's halfway between Roanoke and Lynchburg. It'a about 200 miles south-southwest of me.

I have a hard time believing this guy as being real. It's just too over the top. It's possible I guess. Kinda like the idiots they have on "jay walking" on the tonight show. You know what I mean. Even if this guy is legit, how many other people did this guy talk to before he found "the winner".

My first impression is a bit jaded. I think there are some editorial opinions being put into play here. It is too close to the election and I just don't see people being this openly stupid when opinions count right now.

But hey, who says you need Sharia law...we have representatives in Arkansas that want to execute rebellious children and now some nobody wingnut gets 15 minutes of fame and talks about killing unwed parents and putting their children in institutionalized care...nice.

Guess we will see if this the real deal or flat out bullsh!t.

Me culpa - thanks - I've edited the OP

Yes it is all very bizarre - but then this forum is about US Political MADNESS - and I think this story fits the bill!

I hope you don't actually get to a position where the choice actually exists for them to put these ideas into practice for real - whethe they do or not - anyone who could even say somethign like this is not someone I would want to see in any position of authority at all - let alone a law making one!

I will never get married i been with my girlfriend ( i call her wife anyway ) and she shares the same views as me on that subject , why get married what is the point we do not believe in gods

a lot of these christians make me sick . I work she stays at home with our child and another on the way. I guess some people would rather expect kids to grow up like this .

While these people that make their claim as mentioned in the OP I am sure they were to busy with their lives to even raise their children properly , as I have seen from time and time again , drop them off at day care as soon as possible , hired nannies , then expect schools to raise their kids and expect teachers to instill ethics.

I have also seen christian families who hit abuse their kids physically and mentally . Then the whole mental abuse of the brainwashing of heaven and hell .

They already kill babies who are an inconvenience. More than 50,000,000 a year worldwide.
Why is anyone surprised when the idea of killing inconvenient adults is floated out there even if it is pure insanity?

Maybe it's just a ploy to get people to look at the other side of the coin.

Murder babies...murder adults who murder babies...murder adults who aren't married and might be likely to murder more babies....murder...murder...murder........

Idiots.

Just from what you've posted, it seems this guy is being facetious. His argument is intentionally ridiculous as he sees abortion as equally ridiculous. It's obvious to me what he was trying to do here. Don't let partisanship get in the way. You've heard facetious remarks before.

Perhaps you should read the entire blog past then.

It consists of the interviewer (damned californian!) going to Virginia & writing a piece - the quotes are then from Cliff Russell's reply to that piece included on the same page.

Why would you not look at the whole context???

Babies aren't sapient beings, adults are. And only one of those requires an 18-year commitment, along with huge sums of money and energy.

Okay, so I went back and read the blog. After reading that mess- I can't decide who's more idiotic- the interviewer or the interviewee. They're both partisan idiots with wrong-headed ideas. However, I'm still sticking with my first impression of thinking the guy was being facetious.

I may be incorrect. Shouldn't the title be " Meet A Romney Extremist in Virginia " ?

Sourcing Progressive.org?? enough said. I should delete the rest of this post...

Why the constant effort on ATS to pick out the prized turds of society in an attempt to smear the entire GOP. Another key phrase...Romney supporter used to attach this fella as well. Such a desperate act.... I still can't take was this guy was saying in a literal vein. Maybe he should have said UNFIT parents instead... But the left would rather kill the babies of these same parents... The left knows all about the UNFIT...

"More children from the fit, less from the unfit -- that is the chief aim of birth control." Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12
The Words of Margaret Sanger founder of Planned Parenthood.

The GOP is picking up steam and the left can't stand it. If you really want to start the game of hand picking turds out of the bunch, the Left is full of plenty of stinkers from which to choose. Start with any die hard Planned Parenthood supporter who vows to continue the Eugenics work of Sanger.

Can't deal with failed Obama policies, economy and the Obama doctrine... find the nearest fool who is a registered republican.... Classic tactic

Even if anyone today thinks this (which is unlikely) it's still much better than "force everyone to have tons of kids so they'll be poor and ignorant and vote for us".

This "clifford russell" sounds more like a Lefty than a Republican based on his comments that match with statements like these.

On blacks, immigrants and indigents:
"...human weeds,' 'reckless breeders,' 'spawning... human beings who never should have been born." Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people

On sterilization & racial purification:
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial "purification," couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.

On the right of married couples to bear children:
Couples should be required to submit applications to have a child, she wrote in her "Plan for Peace." Birth Control Review, April 1932

On the purpose of birth control:
The purpose in promoting birth control was "to create a race of thoroughbreds," she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)

On the extermination of blacks:
"We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," she said, "if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

All from Margaret Sanger, the sweetheart of the Progressive Left. This guy should be a hero to them if we use her benchmark

Out of all the "examples" on ATS about the republicans never heard any of the republicans I know ever say anything remotely as such.

Such a great clip that Sums up Obama's 2012 campaign. Funny, Obama had four years to establish a record to run on and failed. Now he insists on running a "Big Bird" campaign due to a lack of any other substance... Great Clip. I've got to save it for future reference as threads like this continue to ooze out of the cracks.

So this Republican wants to kill people who don't let freedom-hating marriage nazis control their lives?

Is that liberty, small government or compassionate conservatism??

Well, if you're like my former co-workers, their sentiments were more like less children all around whether their parents were fit or not. There is nothing more chilling than hearing people shoot the breeze and being completely serious about Sanger's ideas. Trust me, public schools will always have certain elements of teachers in them who think that way. Most don't, but that element exists.

One woman even went so far as to get angry at her twelve-year-old son for being pro-life. She related an entire conversation she had with him, attempting to change his mind. She said that he couldn't possibly believe it was right for unfit people to have children and that it would be better if those kids were never born. He responded that that they were still people and who was he to decide whether they should ever live or not?
