Welch: Obama Cooked Unemployment Numbers

My grandmother could have predicted this and she has been dead for 16 years. It takes 150,000 new jobs a month just to keep up with those entering the job force. Add a few million illegals and their number is just silly politics that any sane human being can see right through.

No, I'm sorry, you are mis-informed.

The Unemployment calculations haven't changed. Obama hasn't decided he isn't counting certain people anymore, this is just how the numbers work.

And those people don't magically dissapear, they fall into the U6 unemployment rate. And if you want to compare U6 rates, it was 15.1% when Obama took office and now it is 14.7%. So anyway you slice it, Obama has finally lowered the unemployment rates lower than when he took office.

You can cry about it and try to spin it all you want, but these are the facts. And btw, next month right before the election will probably be lower, because stores are starting to hire big time for the holidays.

Health care added 44,000 jobs in September. Job gains continued in ambulatory
health care services (+30,000) and hospitals (+8,000). Over the past year,
employment in health care has risen by 295,000.

In September, employment increased by 17,000 in transportation and warehousing.
Within the industry, there were job gains in transit and ground passenger
transportation (+9,000) and in warehousing and storage (+4,000).

Employment in financial activities edged up in September (+13,000), reflecting
modest job growth in credit intermediation (+6,000) and real estate (+7,000).

Employment in other major industries, including mining and logging, construction,
wholesale trade, retail trade, information, professional and business services,
leisure and hospitality, and government, showed little change over the month.

We have FEWER illegal immigrants in the USA right now than in any time in the past 10 years.

The number of Illegal Immigrants has been steadily DECLINING during the economic crisis...which makes complete sense as people in economic hard times cut thier own yard and construction took a nose dive etc.

Weekly applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 388,000, the highest in four months. The increase represents a rebound from the previous week's sharp drop. Both swings were largely due to technical factors.

Last week, California reported a large drop in applications, pushing down the overall figure to the lowest since February 2008.

This week, it reported a significant increase as it processed applications delayed from the previous week.
