2 UFO's almost 1,000 miles apart caught on Google Street View

Hello everyone,

Well just found this article and did not see it posted anywhere on ATS. If it is sorry everyone. Well the story is that 2 mysterious and identical UFO's almost 1,000 miles apart have been observed on Google Maps raising questions as to what they are and how they were photographed there in the first place. The most popular theory as to what the orbs are in reality are sun glare from the camera or the reflected arches of a McDonald's restaurant. Really well pretty cool. My opinion?

Well we are seeing lots and lots of eye witnesses these days, pictures, videos, of UFO etc…… and this well phenomena is not going away in fact I think MORE AND MORE people are starting to say…hey more and more people see these things….I am not crazy, the people who saw it are not crazy, why all the secrecy and stereotypes and why not take these things seriously and get to the truth? . Anyways what do you guys think? 1000 miles apart almost same shape pretty cool. You can find the artickle and pics here. Again sorry if this was posted before.

Looks like a hazey sunset, just before the sun dips below the horizon. What direction are these pics facing?

So I just read about 4 or 5 threads that had "ufos" or "planet x" and I've come to a conclusion.

"Lens Flare" is now the new "Chinese Lantern" - its the answer to all our questions.

What is...? Lens Flare!
Who is...? Lens Flare!
Where was... ? LENS FLARE!

Ok then... now everything's a lens flare these days.

But I'm worried... where are the chinese lanterns? And what happened to the ppl that used to make them? Whole families depended on chinese lanterns! I just hope they come up with a chinese lens flare lantern...

they're experts at satellite imagery and photography.

it would be no trouble to get one of their expert photographers to confirm its lens flare.

i like how people whose only experience at photography is using their iphone to take their facebook profile picture saying its lens flare, especially with an easy google search of lens flare images produces hundreds of results that don't look anything near what the google ufo looks like.

if you'll also notice, all images of lens flare has the sun clearly visible in the shot.

that's why this story is on the news. no one can explain it.

unless its a google employee, who are known for their pranks, put the image in without authorization.

Remember this was shot with the street view cam which isn't a normal camera .

People are HOPING for a REAL UFO!! I am one of them! They just need to go ahead and land on the Washington Monument Park and make themselves known! Unless of course it is part of a treaty that they are not allowed to...

no idea was taken by special cameras for Google map........does not look like sun flares to me but I am just a normal guy with eyes that usually see what is there. That said was not there physically so who knows all I know is that if it is the sun it should be in many shots that they took but not 2 separate pictures from 1000 miles away. This fact alone kind of make me think. : ) Plus these cameras are really high end cameras.

Every lens design will produce it's own characteristic lens flare, that will be different from flare produced by a different lens design.

This would explain why the same camera/lens (assuming that Google uses identical cameras/lenses) captured very similar "UFOs" at different locations.

By the way, technically what we are seeing here is a "ghost" or "ghosting", although it comes under the general heading of "lens flare". To me (and many other photographers out there) the term "lens flare" means a general loss of contrast in an image, which can include "ghosts" sometimes, but not necessarily all the time.

30 YRS + as an amatuer photographer with no iphone, learn how google makes these shots watch the video when they pan the image round to view the so called ufo what's nearby in the image the sun!!!

What make you think google are photography experts they get most of the good images from other specialist companies!

You will always have some stitching problems when an image like this is made from different views joined together!

Those are strange lens flares.
Its not altogether impossible, counting the numerous ships 24/7 in the air, that
we continually capture them in photographs.

Of particular interest would be the concentration of light effect on one end and
a spreading light effect on the other.

There might be many lens fares that exhibit the saucer like lighting behavior.
