MODS please help with Short stories

I have an entry to the short story horror comp. When I try to post in the short stories, I get a not permitted to post in this forum message. Is this compitition open to all? Or do you have to purchase entry with points in the short stories forum?

I did a search and found John Bulls thread announcing it, but its pretty vague as to where to actually post it. I assumed it would be in the short stories forum.

I would like to also throw my hat in the ring! I am an avid writer (although perhaps not so good, considering I usually don't let people read or critique my stuff). I love scifi/fantasy, and would love to know how to enter these threads or competitions. Are they divided into genre categories? General posting and comment? Someone direct me to the proper explanatory thread?

You need "writer" status to post in Collaborative fiction.You need to have been here a month and posted regularly before you'll get that BUT you don't need any status to post in the Short Story subforum of Collaborative fiction, that is open to all.

My guess is you're posting in the wrong forum.

I'm changing the status of Kidfinger, everlastingnoitall, and dr_strangecraft because you've all been here long enough and posted enough too.
