Nothing in my mind would ever allow me to drop near a grand on a psychic. And money isn't even really tight on my end(although I always find a way to spend it
) .

I'm not saying she's a fraud, just that she ain't worth that to me.
I kinda like the seemingly randomness of life really.

If she really wanted to heal the world, or help people, I'll tell you that she'd not be charging 900 bucks. That broad lives high on the hog at that rate.

Well, I think it would be apropos to state that I have just as little (or less) faith in the Medical Establishment as I do in this individual.

That's not the point, however. She is speaking to people and reading information from an alleged connection to a supposed higher source. Even though, as I've stated, I don't buy into the med. establishment, I do think that they have put in much more time, money, effort, and skill to gain their position in "healing". Add to that that they use medial equipment of various natures that also comes with a price attached; they do indeed have a logical basis for levying a charge(although it could be less, too) for their services.

A person who charges 900 dollars for a phone call who pulls interpretations out of what amounts to thin air with no real credentials, and no real equipment to maintain or use does not have anywhere near the operating costs, and so should not be viewed in the same light.

She may think she's better than a "Miss Cleo" but in the end, she’s just a Miss Cleo with more publicity and a few books padding her pockets. That doesn't equate to 900-dollar phone calls in my method of logic processing.

She could help MANY more people if she was charging something much cheaper, in line with (but still inflated from) her true operating costs. That would be an effort of a person truly out to help people.

We could also analyze your statement further about the medical establishment trying to heal the world and come to other, vast realizations such as:

Medical care across the world is varied. Some places have a much more socialistic view of healthcare and medical professionals in such areas would look like Mother Theresa compared to this "clairvoyant" individual. While medical establishments in areas that are very capitalistic in nature look as evil to me as lawyers themselves....

But I digress; the point is that she could easily afford to reduce her "price" and help many more people, if that was her wish; while still living a very comfortable life.

X

Jeez if you guys are going to rag on the lady at least get your # right. She charges 700 dollars for a full reading and her son charges 400. Big deal. If you got the money and want it, so what? You think she's a fraud, fine. Don't pay it. The people who do pay it don't think she's a fraud. Why is it your or anyone else's business what they do with their money?

"Oh, if she wanted to help people she would be charging a lot less." Yeah right. You have no idea what her operational costs are. She does have a staff you know. She has an organization. She got bills to pay. And how do you charge for what she does? How do you gage that? If you think her price is what is keeping people from getting a full reading from her then think again. I tried once.....she had a very long waiting list and I wasn't willing to wait a year.

I don't know if she predicted the tsunami specifically but i remember her telling people not traveling to India. I don't care either way. USing that
"logic" there can be no such thing as a psychic because no one pubilicly warned kennedy that he was going to die, no one warned us of hitler, no one warned us about ww1, ww2, vietnam. No one told lincoln he was going to die. you could go on with every major historical event.

I used to believe some of the things she said, but she's just taking people for a ride and sucking up their jing.

She's got books out, she teaches classes, if you want a reading from her it's like 200 bucks or 400 i'm not quite sure..

She's a big fraud she was on Larry King once and she sucked.... You could tell she was nervous... big time...

Sadly, it's 700 dollars a session, her son is around 400-500 i think. I personally think she's a genuine clairvoyent, but not very good at it. She prides herself on what little she knows and blows it out of proportion. I think most of the time she's just talking to herself, not her spirit guide.

I like to watch Sylvia and I have read many of her books but to say that she is for real, who knows. I think that anyone that is a true seer or if they can read minds had better shut up and not let anyone know because the Government would off them very quickley to make sure they did not talk.

Looks like Ms. Browne was right about the Robert Blake case. She predicted his acquittal:

I think anyone can predict some things.. I just predicted what the markets would do today, but that don't mean that I am some superior being that can charge people $2000 for an hour to sit with me.. Unreal. I use to believe her, but then I checked myself and realized that some people are better at predicting things then others just based on what the past shows. Nice thread!

I will be as plain and simple as possible.

SHE

IS

A

FRAUD!!!

She is arrogant and actually disrespects people when they provide proof that she is wrong. She will say something like "umm, no honey, YOU are wrong. I don't lie, I KNOW."

She makes millions of dollars off of the sorrows of others. She makes bold predictions that consistently fail.

I remember one year she predicted that the Mariners were going to win the World Series. It was a 'BOLD' prediction because that was the year where they tied the most win record in a single season. They were simply dominating everyone. Well, if you are a Mariners or Yankees fan you know what happened.

They got crushed in the ALCS.

Chalk another MISS down for miss Sylvia.

If there is anything legit about her powers (or I should say ever was) then it is long gone. If she did have any type of mystical powers she has abused them and lost them because of that abuse.

I tend to lean more towards the 'FRAUD' and always being a 'FRAUD' train of thought.

Wow.

What a prediction. A 50/50 shot. Damn, if I could make millions by making predictions based on a 50/50 outcome I would probably be right more than 50% of the time. Problem is, she isn't.

Now, if she had come out a couple years before there ever was a trial and said, "Robert Blake will be acquitted." People would have been like, "Acquitted for what?"

Now that would have been a REAL prediction.

I just went to one of her seminars in oakland a few days ago, did not buy the ticket it was a gift for my 21st birthday. I didnt want to go , but had to honor the gift i recived lol. I do belive she was a psycic but lost here gifts long time ago. At the seminar there were alot of women and old women which brought me to this question why does she only appeal to women and old women are they easily duped in to all she says. Also at the seminar she made the public to a meditation which i did not participate in nor did i want to.

Never receive money for using a 'gift from God"? What taddle! That would mean people gifted as artists or singers or musicians or writers, etc, could never receive money in exchange for their gifts. I don't know (and neither can anyone else, in truth) if this Sylvia Browne is genuine or not, but I do know that if I had a 'God given gift' of any sort and I spent time and effort developing that gift, I would expect to be paid for whatever I produced with that gift. Who would write books or paint beautiful pictures or sing wonderful songs if everyone said, "Oh, that's a God-given gift. You can't be paid for that."
