Blast from the Past: May 1963 400 Million Needles and an Undersea Test Area

Hubby and I started going through the boxes and boxes of old magazines that were in the attic of our 110 year old home when we moved in. The image I link here is a composite of portions of page 16 of the May 27, 1963 edition of U.S. News & World Report.

Pretty interesting (and bizarre) stuff! 400 million needles in orbit and an undersea missile test site in the Bahamas!

ETA, that I think you are lucky to have such a stash of old news to look through! I love doing that when the chance comes along. It's weird to see how reporting the news has changed, how our ways of thinking have changed, etc. Soak it up!

If there were any now submerged remnants of Ancient civilizations in that area of the Bahamas they're toast and rubble now
