The Night of Endless Horrors

Sunflower Rainbow (formally known as Jane Flemkey) and Hero Anon (formally known as Carl Nusebaum) entered the “All-You-Can-Eat” vegan restaurant. The protest went well, and they were coming down off their adrenalin high of sticking it to the evil meat-eaters and leather-wearers of the world.
To think that people would eat the flesh of animals just made Sunflower’s skin crawl.
Hero just wanted to get his freak on with Sunflower.

After getting their tofu/soy/cabbage sticks with a lemon-water dip, they sat at their table and started to eat.

Little did they know. . . . . . .

“I think I’m going to be sick”, said the radish.
“Just don’t look, think of something nice. Warm safe place. . . warm safe place. . . “, chanted the carrot sticks.
“Oh god! They ate Shirley! They ate Shirley!”
“Stop it!” Said the head of lettuce. “Stop it right now!”
The bowl of lemons just wept. Some prayed. Some prayed to the meat-eating God of their religion. The one that stated that animals were created to save the true and just, the honest and honourable, the devout. Animals were created to spare the chlorophyll-kind. The green and red and blue and yellow kind.
Eggplants were non-denominational and didn’t really count.
The peas were busy killing themselves before a family of eight could get near them.
A bowl of cherries were sacrificing a cantaloupe in the hopes that they would be saved. “Save the pits, Betty! Save the pits!”
The spaghetti squash was lamenting.

But all was for naught.

Some survivors made it through the night. Some made it through the carnage and horror. They wept tears of joy as they were tossed into a compost heap. Thanking their god for their deliverance from the evil meat eaters.

But their night of horror was only beginning, as a white fluffy bunny came nearer and nearer. Closer and closer. A piece of arugula looked at a wedge of iceberg and as the bunny came closer, just said, “Hold me John.”
