I suppose i also have a warped view.
You base your opinion on feelings but if you would look into depression a bit you would find staggering numbers of depressed people that have been abused as a child.

This is why I hate stories like this, it scares people into thinking the problem is gigantic. It makes people suspicious of everyone. It creates a society where the view of a person is distorted and twisted so much that neighbours suspect people of things they would never ever remotely be capable of.

Maybe so, but it is better to be safe than sorry. It is far better to protect a child from this than to blindly trust people, only to end up with abuse going on right under your nose.

Wonder what the parents and children think of those trusted neighbours.

Click on A simple lesson on that page it's worth the read.

Source references are provided throughout and these will usually be either statements and exhibits presented in UK Courts of Law, or files identified within material from the Landslide computers which was obtained from the US by David Stanley in September 2006. A large part of this information has been confirmed as accurate by prosecuting authorities through their experts. There is no evidence to suggest that the remainder is not equally accurate, although be warned that accurate does not mean reliable.

Obviously I condemn the officers involved, and would want to point to the threat of giving humans, with all our fallibility, so much power over other humans.

Having said that, I also am amused as the way this all works. Someone posts a thread that is about an incident that is obviously and shockingly horrible. Then the forumers all line up to come and take turns throwing tomatoes, expressing our disgust.

If it makes it to a few pages, it is because others have come in with some argument based in moral relativity, and then the fight is on.

Oh you....humans!

You have a very warped view of society. There are not massive pedo clubs all over the world, there is a minuscule minority of society who are quite severely twisted in this way.

This is why I hate stories like this, it scares people into thinking the problem is gigantic.

It IS.

FBI Informants Speak Out: Eric Holder's DOJ Is Ignoring Child Sex-Trafficking Victims

it made me realize that the vast majority of police are simply organized criminals in their own special club where they all look out for each other and do whatever they need to do to assert their Mafia-like dominance over the population.

Some would argue that you have a warped view of police officers.

You may be able to point to people who aren't paedophiles
and
I may be able to point to police who aren't power tripping scumbags

but at the end of the day, here we still are.
Living in a world filled with paedophiles and scumbag power tripping cops.
And in this case, they're one and the same.

They mention in the article that it was "operation ore" which as my google tells me was in 1999 with a follow up in 2001 in the US.

Wiki - operation ore

So while it's not new news, it still makes horrifying reading 10 years later.

I believe you are confused. This news is from today, the article talks about the arrests happening this morning so I'm unsure how this is not considered new?

Are you saying this article is over ten years old with today's date?

I'm not sure cause the site i linked above told the story of a man convicted in 99 came to the us and found where the sites were operated here in the us and brought back evidence to try to clear his name. His effort did not work because he took his life at the beginning of this year.
I suppose maybe operation ore is ongoing but i have not found any evidence to suggest this is the case.

Also the evidence he found supports the idea that many of the offenders may have only been guilty of owning a credit card and not actually viewing any child porn at all.

But.. they were arrested. Police are scum.. except that police who are not pedos arrested them. They don't look the other way. They didn't lie about it. They ARRESTED THEM.

And yet people will continue to bash ALL police.. because they lack the vision to see that there is good and bad in everything, including people. There are good and bad bakers and bankers, teachers and trashmen, CEOs CIOs CTOs, and every other O, and.. good and bad police.

OOPs how do YOU know that non pedophile cops busted the peos...?
maybe the best hidden pedo cops just busted a few for example...

Now the truth should be eaten whole without mustard and the TOTAL OF PDOS WAS 1300
This makes the cops actually only a smaller percentage of those popped for pedophilings.
The remainder were poiticians, judges, ministers lawyers and dustmen.....
The truth being every other one as bad as the cops .....

Didn't you see all the empty chairs at the London Olympics? Gotta get ratings somehow lol.

On a serious note, joking about it is wrong enough, it escapes me how someone can harm a child. Sentencing needs to be increased in the US Imo. About 3 years ago I had a roommate and got a knock on the door one day from a state worker asking me if he had disclosed his sex offender status. i say no and she shows me the paper.

At the end of the day it turns out he had raped his 14 yr old niece and did 2 and a half yrs for it. WTF, ruined her life and obviously the pig is a toxic soul. I threw his stuff out while he got arrested for failure to report or whatever. Wish I could sent him on his way with a healthy as whoopin

While I don't agree with the Cato Institute's politics, news is news. They seem to have well documented the cases. Worse yet, they are finding 8 to 12 cases a day. Unbelievable.

I gave you a star since I would have never in a million years bothered to surf the Cato Institute's website.

The timing of this is odd, tptb like to set people up with sick stuff like this.

And police officers of all people? 50 of them no less?

Hmmm... interesting.

Don't get me wrong, if they're guilty I hope they lock them up and throw away the key, but this sounds kinda suspicious.

Is it possible for someone to send a virus full of child pornography to a computer and then alert authorities? Do you just have to have them on your computer or does there need to be evidence of an effort to acquire them?

I find it real easy to set someone up with this. Is it that easy?
