Has ATS gone mad? What has happened to the core value of this once great site!!!

Several years ago , whilst looking for answers and knowledge, i found a site called ABOVE TOP SECTRET.
Everyday, i would go on-line and ATS would be the first website that i viewed.
I read everything, and most of the replies. I was facinated and hooked.
This was my kind of site.

Now, i find it painful to read 90% of the post due to the fact that they are complete crap!

Certain people ( Phage, Slayer,Annunaki1 etc) had something interesting to add to the world , something that gave a person a moment of pause.

Now, when i log-on, im confronted by 5-6 post on the same subject.
post about the same ufo sighting, the same shooting, the same conspiricey, the same politition, the same police aggression, congress, obhama!

And the replies are all the same,
Wheres your proof, they acted in self defence, its the law,its a militery aircraft, are there witnesess!

I do love this site because there will always be some post that captures the mind for discussion and beauty.

But , sadly there too many people on this site that think they can post any sort of crap and think they have conquered our minds becuase someone has given them stars and flags!

I have posted nothing informal or knowledgeable here, iv simply had enough of those who think they are intelligant enough to post something on this once GREAT site !

I am one of those people....Or maybe there are only so many conspiracies out there....Or maybe as the internet has changed...maybe site has changed along with it...also i have seen good and bad postings amongst all those you mentioned...we all have our off days....Also to be a self proclaimed expert is a very precarious position at best...It could also be that there is so much posted on you tube now it has become the bane of sites like this.
I am just trying to say maybe the times they are a changing

You nailed it mespen...ATS is 90% crap these days!

I suppose it could be blamed on the market that the advertisements (revenue) target!

Now days we have a bunch of crap instead of the content we used to see...sad days!

I spend most of my time here looking for something worth reading...instead of reading!

Well said indeed I to have been coming here for a while, I never bothered with an account as just reading the many comments and opinions was great I eventually made an account but because of the many nah sayers and blatant disregard for some peoples opinions I very rarley use it I am no expert in anything but come here to learn but I seem to be spending less and less time here certain subjects are a complete no go area dispite of how relevant they are

No you are wrong. If there is no evidence it only means there is no proof to substantiate a claim. If a specialist in a field certifies the existence of something it needs no pictures or proof to become real. Pictures up here of cougars do not gain recognition until they are certified by an expert. That means evidence has no validity unless it has been identified as real by the right people. Our interpretation is not recognized unless we have the right credentials anyway, write or wrong it isn't considered real anyway.

We all want to blame everybody for the downward spiral this site has been taken lately, but we are all to blame really. There are good topics on here. They just die of neglect before anyone notices them. The demand for crap is high at the moment. The topics we love to hate flourish, and there is no room left for innovative thought. It's not just on this site either....seems to be a trend. Who wants to think for themselves when someone else you never meet can tell you what you should and shouldn't fear?...*sigh*

Personally i think the site should drop the conspiracy act, and "alternate news etc " People who are open minded get ridiculed and whatnot. UFO's etc used to be what people looked for on here, now if you start a UFO thread you either get banned or its getting trolled on.

I respect your time for repling to me, but....... what kind of specialist do you listen to ..........the MSM , a scientist, nasa, a politicion, a president?

I wrote this post because iv had enough of the thoughtless repeted post that are filling the spaces that truely inteligant and knowledgeable posts should be taking!

This site was once about knowledge, but now it has became a site that is now search for stars and flags.

Years ago the home page gave everyone a topic to think about and reply to.
Now, i have to search for something that is interesting.

It is politics man.

It is not about quality.

It is about quantity.

I have seen many a good threads get buried or thrown in the hoax bin and they were good threads. All the while some dumb thread without a lick of common sense gets all of the publicity. Ignorance is with the masses. The masses sell ads.

Whilst... At the same time this is at least the 6th "What's happened to ATS" post this month

I've only been viewing since 2010, I've notice a changed in trend, but what can ya do aye?
