There is always a way my friend it just has to be pictured in the mind first. The problem I see is that the avatars are higher than center on the background so I would have to mount it onto the bg in the right place. Also tell me what your minds eye sees as the temporal hole.

Hmmmmm......Like a tear in the fabric of space time, the edges somewhat transparent as the two realms overlap.

Large enough to see the main portion of the avatar, might have to resize to do this?

Just a little of the original BG from the avatar showing on the inside of the hole, then a overlapped "event horizon" of the hole, then the new background. As if the avatar is just about to step through the hole.

Again I am impressed if you could do it, just seems complicated as I type it.

I've been fooling around with a few different techniques.

Using the eraser to feather the edge worked OK.

But so far just cutting and pasting a circle looks best.

Maybe someone else wants to try. I need to take a break.

Truly there are many talented people on ATS; artists, musicians etc. What makes them special is when they share their talents with the rest of us. This was a great idea, not only because of the free avatar work, but because it has sparked interest in some to "give it a go" themselves; hopefully these members will learn much from it, myself included.
I dropped my avatar a while back not because I didn't like it, but because I was frustrated with the rudeness during that time and didn't even log in for months. It was the special members who coaxed me back with their kindness, sincerity and profound thinking.
I really would like to try a new avatar, although my wife thinks my original one fits me and that I should continue using it. I'll have to give it some thought however. Thanks for an interesting post; one that obviously has no negativity in it whatsoever. We need that once in a while...

Just my opinion.

I'm not really an artist. While I can manipulate images to make cool avatars, I won't be able to free-hand a graffiti Templar Knight, or a Templar Knight period :p I might find one in google and be able to do your name and ATS, though...
