Avatar Creations

I think it's a great idea - I wouldn't have a problem participating in contests for religions or holidays I know nothing about... excellent way to learn more about the world.

I like that there was a backstory to this contest to explain the context of our creations.

I'll try to do a "backstory" or hypothetical poster each time .... or even recruit someone, that would be cool too!!

Hey all, loving all the ideas being thrown around! Certainly one of the most productive threads I've seen in my time here.

I was wondering if anyone could add some animation to my avatar please? I've been toying with a few ideas -

1) The writing sort of spinning into place out of the darkness

2)The writing being black with animated fire behind it and the symbol

or 3) Some sort of animated samurai warrior instead

If anyone could help I'd be very appreciative.

Congrats Marty.... ......some "far out" entries...enjoyed them all....fun contest Chiten....

I Love the idea of having a contest that would feature images of holidays/religions around the world.....that would be facinating....I actually had a similiar idea...but wasn't sure how to make it work to not be geared toward Western culture...I honestly know very little about the times of year and the different types of holidays and thier religious significance, etc. in other parts of the world, would love to learn more.

Perhaps Fall is a good time to consider doing the first one, since "harvest" time is pretty universal....then the following one in Winter, etc....following the seasons seems to be a possible way to approach it?

didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but will give it another shot. I know the other guys can do some majorly awesome stuff to it, so they'll blow me away when they get here!

Of course you can join in. As for your avatar you will prolly get something you like. Many skilled designers in the thread and on ATS as a whole.

The really good artists will be here eventually, but until then... I found this and you might like it

I like where you're going with it, but I was wondering if you could start with the black background, bring the the symbol in with the white flash, then the writing in with the blue flash... if you see what I mean?

I'm starting to wish I'd had the symbol white and the writing blue to start with lol, then it would suit the flashes better

In any case, it's looking better already so thank you
