it seems obvious that while over the short term assad can survive, he has no real future as leader of syria and the new system will probably turn away from russia and china because they helped him last so long. at least that'll be the story the survivors of this will be told; future syrians will write textbooks about how russia and china assisted assad in his brutal subjugation of them during their great war of liberty and freedom.

i think she's saying that eventually, their influence in syria will evaporate and they won't be able to force syrians to accomodate them in the manner that assad did.

The truth of why China and Russia backs the HumanSlayer Assad is simply because they TOO, are humanSlayers.

They would do what that beast Assad had done in the face of dissidents and opposition to their rule and dictatorships - mowing down innocent UNARMED men, women and children with bullets, tanks, artillery, air power, etc.

It's not like it did not happen in China, even today. And tyrant Putin had shown his true colors with growing specific and targetted actions against dissidents and questioners of his policies.

Thus they worry that if they string up that animal Assad to face justice, one day they themselves will be strung up by the world as well.

But what is more critically worrisome is that they habour such inhuman thoughts - slaying of innocent men, women and children whom would only question their rule, and will continue to do so in the future, a matter of state and personal survival for power at the expense of fellow humanity.....

Say they were to come over here and start pouring money into occupy??, pouring money into militias that are already active across Amerika??? Mrs and Mr Clinton belong to the phalanges behind unipolar world. The direction in geopolitics coined by Bush the senior, as the new world order. One happy world, led by socialistic ideals and strong international policing force.

Now, that rap really was not bought by their new buddies, Russia and China, which only saw there opportunity to grow and advance on the expense of totally illusioned (illuminati) US leadership, and its closest allies. Ducks in a line...

Early this year reality broke through, when President Putin poured tons of cold water on their neck, and said, Russia will never give up its sovereignty to anybody. China does not even need to say that.

Its a hard year for nwo-gang, when reality breaks through, and their dream of unipolar world shatters, and it is becoming clearer and clearer, that it actually is a multi-polar world.

Cold war was bi-polar. But now its multi-polar. Much more vicious and tougher world.

Add to this mess the crashing dollar and euro, the lost military technology to China - and you can see the effect of self-destruction only harming those, who want to self-destruct. Rest of the world just stands and looks by, and laughs. China, Russia, India - they are not crashing. And they are not giving up an inch of their sovereignty.

China has 1.3 billion people. Russia, admittedly, only has 143 million.

But Russia has a formidable understanding of weapons and tactics. They were letting off a-bombs and traveling into space over 40 years ago. But you can't ignore China. 1.3 billion people plus....

Even India, considered our friends, is more socialist in nature. They got 1 billion plus people. We sanctioned them in the 1990's because they were testing nuclear weapons and building an arsenal.

I bet Uncle Sam would do exactly the same if 100,000 or even 1.5 mil patrons rolled into say, New Orleans or denver with small arms and took over the joint. Can the existing civil service and govt be trusted to maintain law and order? When they had NOT stopped the bloodshed even if they knew it was morally wrong to continue pandering to the animal Assad? At least the defectors, espacially the recent one by the general, had the MORAL COURAGE to walk away and tell the truth to the world on the regime's atrocities. Thus, is humanity supposed to continue to engage in talks in swanky comfort while our fellow human brothers and sisters in Syria get slaughtered by the thousands daily?

I do hope people realize countries are not the enemy. Corrupt governments with their own agendas and so called enemies is not exclusive to the US. The people in these countries are in the same boat as every person on the planet. Next time you hear someone saying we should attack < insert country >, just remind them of the fact most people have the penalty of death if they do not pledge their lives and everything for their country (leaders).

Its funny when the US is no better than any other country. We just have the tech and funds to keep our, not so pretty business, from seeing the light of day.

Sometimes I wish the economy would just tank hard. The sooner it crashes, the sooner we can find a better, more equal system. Hopefully get some honest people to make sure it won't happen again. I won't believe every person who gains a little power turns into an ego maniac. I have faith in the human race.

Death tolls as posted are for both sides of the conflict, and I LoL at Assad the butcher as tounge and cheek, to the other butchers I.E Obama and the NATO led countries.

And I don't back Russia and China's stance but I do think that this is not cut and dry Assad just killing his people, this is Assad fighting off the wests proxy occupation of his country through foriegn intervention. This is "us" the west fighting against the Syrian government in a great power struggle that is ripe with propoganda, on both sides.

But whats lost in this is what exactly happened to Ghadaffi he was not willing to toe company line and was executed by the west, Assad not a fan of Amerikan intervention, isn't willing to lie down and let his country be taken over by terrorists, or foriegn funded insurgents, or Al-CIA-da, or Muslim brotherhood. Whats lost as I said before is we created this we gave the green light for terrorists to attack any ruling party in the guise of providing them with democracy, for the people. These freedom fighters who only a yr ago were known bye another name "terrorist" are now funded and trained to overthrow those who won't roll over for Amerika.

It's pathetic to see Hillary Clintons rhetoric and vitrol she spews, arming terrorists to fight a ruling authority seems wrong to me just the same as russia continuing to arm the gov. Though I'm sure there are those in Syria that want Bashar Al Assad to be gone, yet there are just as many or more who were living just fine under his rule. As he said today if the whole country wanted him gone he would have been gone long ago. 16 months and still only small pockets of resistance in "rebel" controlled areas. All of which are close to border towns easily infiltrated by outside forces.

Hence my skeptism, and unwillingness to jump on board the bomb the hell outta Syria bus, and as well like I said in previous posts, Obama, Harper, Brown, Hollande any one of these fools would make Assad look like an angel placed in the same position of having foriegn funded, trained, and armed insurgents threatening to overthrow your government, when it isn't the popular opinion amongst the majority. Where crazy as it sounds I'm sure if SHTF here, the majority would be behind us, we would be united in protest, yet I'm sure the guns would still come out if we all asked our dictators to go, and you best be damn sure they themselves even facing massive oppositon would hold there ground all the same.

So to me asking Assad to step down, not fight, to turn tale and run, would be just what is wanted, by NATO and Amerika, not the majority of his people. It would be giving in to the hegemony that runs this world and wishes to unsurp power, and trap it in a vacuum, for only a few to ever enjoy. Here is a question: How many of you "Assad is evil" lunatics have been to Syria since the fighting has erupted or have friends which have been to Syria since then? I am going to guess none, or almost none. Luckily a friend of my family's is originally from Syria and lives here but has visited the nation within the past 6 months. She is not an extremist of any sort, mostly non-political and prefers to deal with what confronts her family - nothing more. According to her the situation on the ground in Syria is dire but it is not anything like the Western media is reporting.

After watching American news, going to Syria, and then coming back to see more news, she has said it is absolutely astonishing how they lie so blatantly. Her sympathies are with al-Assad; not because she finds him to be a great leader, but only because the ones trying to tear down Syria are much, much worse. It is the Muslim Brotherhood in a coalition with Al-Qaeda, working together to overturn the government and are using the Western media to manipulate the minds of Americans and Europeans. The innocent people of Syria are caught in the middle of this orchestrated uprising by Islamic fanatics. One of the leading causes of Islamist anger against al-Assad is that he, just like his father, is part of a sect of Islam in Syria which supports the Baath Party. Their anger against this Islamic sect is that it basically treats the Syrian Christian community as friends and does not suppress or abuse them.

Bashar al-Assad is not trying to slaughter his people, he is trying to maintain order and route out this sect of fanatics financed by the West. The people of Syria, most of them save 20% or so, do not want al-Assad's government to fall because the result will be absolute chaos. This is not to say Syrians love al-Assad, just that they prefer him over the sect of blood thirsty Islamists.

All people who believe in national sovereignty should be applauding al-Assad, not condemning him. The West is trying to overturn his nation, butcher his people, and support a group which will suppress the large Christian minority there. So long as Russia can keep the West out of Syria by its indirect condemnation of intervention, and al-Assad maintain his spine of steel, there is hope for everyone yearning to breath free.
