Issa Letter Hammers Obama on Operation 'Fast and Furious

The White House dismissed a 6 1/2 page letter which asked the tough questions we all want answered:

"Either you or your most senior advisers were involved in managing Operation Fast & Furious and the fallout from it...or, you are asserting a Presidential power that you know to be unjustified solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation," Issa wrote. "To date, the White House has steadfastly maintained that it has not had any role in advising the Department with respect to the congressional investigation. The surprising assertion of executive privilege raised the question of whether that is still the case.

This stonewalling is not going to get the issued dropped. It is a continuation of his obstruction to justice. Will Obama be next to appear before the Congressional Judicial Oversight committee?

Yes, and the complaint is very clearly laid out in the contempt filing.

Not sure how the MSM isn't making this their top story. Aiding and abetting the murder of a U.S. citizen and then lying to attempt to cover up knowledge is multiple felony counts. Executive privilege does not apply to cover-up criminal activity.

Oh people care, Obama's MSM is wanting this to be a non-story. I found this on Drudge the story is only an hour and 45 mins old.

It really doesn't matter if the network news doesn't cover the story, as we see in Holder's case. That people only now are finding out what the Fast and Furious is about didn't slow down the Contempt citation

Thanks for posting the contempt citation (looks very detailed). I need to run my dog to the vet, but I will enjoy reviewing what has transpired thus far.

People need to wise up and see this is a further promotion of the left/right paradigm. They are using this fast and furious for political gain. Holder could have been arrested months ago and Obama impeached, they want to use this as leverage for the elections. Is Issa supporting Ron Paul? No way he is the second richest member of congress besides pelosi. Yes we should impeach Obama over fast and fuious, but we should do it now and not let romney look good as a result.

What are you talking about? This has been on going for months and months now. It is just a slow process and the Dems have been stalling at every turn trying to drag this out as long as possible.

I just read the entire letter from Issa to Obama. He's setting him up. The last paragraph in Issa's letter to Obama tells the entire story of where this is going:

In the meantime, so that the Committee and the public can better understand your role,and the role of your most senior advisors, in connection with Operation Fast and Furious, please clarify the question raised by your assertion of executive privilege: To what extent were you or your most senior advisors involved in Operation Fast and Furious and the fallout from it,including the false February 4, 2011 letter provided by the Attorney General to the Committee? Please also identify any communications, meetings, and teleconferences between the White House and the Justice Department between February 4, 2011 and June 18, 2012, the day beforethe Attorney General requested that you assert executive privileg

For those not aware, the Obama administration has only produced 7,600 pages of documents out of 140,000 pages subpoenaed by Congress. The Obama administration has repeatedly denied any knowledge of Fast and Furious. Holder was already caught lying to Congress about his knowledge of Fast and Furious.

I'm guessing they already have evidence somebody in the WH leaked and are now baiting the trap for more lies and cover-up.

This isn't going away.

And no...no one cares about Fast and Furious...Republicans have been trying to push this story for months...nobody cares...because they can see through the propaganda.

Republicans have already gone through all the Fast and Furious operational documents...they came up with nothing and so they are reduced to this political theater.

As far as this investigation goes, I hope it takes in Obama and Bush because the whole ordeal started with Bush, then got out of hand with Holder/Obama..

Actually, the idea of the program started with Bush.
Under 0bama, it was expanded and the rules and governance put in place were removed.
Bush was wrong, 0bama has made it even more wrong.

Obama's lack of accountability is not to be tolerated. He dismissed the Issa letter. What a way to handle congress, dictator style.

There are two big differences between Bush's Operation Wide Receiver and Obama's Fast and Furious. Bush's program actually did track the guns and was done with the approval of the Mexican government. With F&F the guns were not tracked and they hid the operation from the Mexican government. If necessary, I will post this a thousand times if people keep attempting to deflect the problem back upon the previous Administration instead of acknowledging this Administration's responsibility for the crimes.

A lot of people care about Fast and Furious, and the "transparent" Obama administration's hypocrisy.

Here's a quick Google search for "fast and furious" and Eric Holder. Over 23 million search results. What's sad is that apparently some people care more about protecting the emperor in chief's rep than discovering the truth that's in the documents.



The party seeking the truth shouldn't be denigrated as being "political" in their undertaking.

The party circling the wagons and hiding the truth is the party which is being "political." Only after the 140,000 pages of subpoenaed documents are made available, and only after all the witnesses are made available, can anybody judge the extent to which the Obama administration, did, or did not, act illegally.
