In the last World Cup, English footballer Frank Lampard was denied a goal in a match against Germany when the ball clearly crossed the goal line, but was not given. After this incident, Sepp Blatter, head of world governing body FIFA, said that he was against goal-line technology to prove one way or another if a ball had crossed the goal line.
Fast forward to this last Tuesday, when England were playing the Ukraine in the European Championships, Ukraine were sure that they had equalised in the game, when John Terry cleared the ball from inside the goal, but it was not given.
Surprise, surprise, Blatter now comes out and says that goal-line technology is 'imperative'.
Funny how, if it is for England, he is not interested, but if it is against England, it becomes 'imperative'.

Blatter's hatred for English football is so blatant, he no longer even tries to disguise it!

Discuss.

This time is a little different however as the 5th official was on the goal line and should have seen it

And the linesmen should've seen the clear offside before and that makes the Ukraine look even more stupid. Doesn't matter if it should've been a goal, as it should have been ruled offside before anyway.
Just another bunch of sore losers in the end.

Anyway, Referees do suck, regardless of what sport, in what class, they are usually horrible, make stupid mistakes and i don't know how a multi-million or even billion spectacle like the World Cup or the European Championship can rely on amateurs. What we need are professional referees who completely understand the game and the rules of it.

England should start up a new organisation, clear out all the corruption and get in new representatives from every member of fifa. Just start a new FIFA and see who comes with us. I bet most nations would join to be rid of Sepp Blatter's FIFA mafioso rule of world football.

This is why FIFA hate British football:-

en.wikipedia.org...

The International Football Association Board, has to have all 4 Home Nations on it (The Home Nations are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) The game was invented here and the rules of the game cannot be changed unless the Home Nations say so.

Also under the rules of FIFA, the Vice President ALWAYS has to be from the Home Nations. Something else that FIFA hate.

Discuss.

i think its more blatter hates being told what to do by england, than england itself.
and platini despises the english game because of the money the premiership generates.
and with that money the clubs pay ridiculous wages and transfer fee's. which in turn really are damaging the game financially. look at man city. they cant sell adebayor, tevez, johnson etc. because their wages are sky high.
no club can afford to pay them 150k plus a week. they are willing to pay van persie 250k a week. a million a month! now that is ridiculous. so they are buying a team, not creating one from within.
platini is all about the money. look at the fines handed out this week...
bendtner gets fined 80k for flashing his paddy power briefs after scoring a goal....
russia are fined 96k for their fans fighting with the stewards
croatia are only fined 65k for their fans racist behaviour !!

so your in trouble for the monkey chants and banana throwing, but woe betide you if you break their strict advertising rules...
in other words, dont mess with the revenue stream
