Yeshua is Hebrew for "LORD" (all capitals).

And it actually appears in previous to that in Sumerian "religious/historical" cuneiform, so really it's Sumerian.

That's why English-speakers say "Moscow" instead of "Moskva", and French-speakers say "Londres" instead of "London".
The pronunciation "Jesus" (whether the opening letter is pronounced hard as in English or soft as in Spanish) is just one of those conveniences.
It doesn't matter. Jesus does not mind. It is the faith that is important, not the actual form of the sound coming out of the mouth.

Well, you can refer to him as Yahveh, or Jesus or Yeshua or Yahoshua. Nowadays some christians might not know who he is, but he's the one who was with Moses on Mt. Sinai when he showed Moses his glory and his back.

Hebrew was not spoken at the time of Christ.
Greek; Latin; and Aramaic were the lingua franca of the time.
Hebrew was only used liturgically by the Jewish Priestly Class.

Therefore, Jesus did not speak Hebrew.
Hebrew was a "dead language" for two millenia until the time of the Talmudic Zionist revival of the 19th century.

Yeshua, actually spelt Yeshas, is pronounced as Jeshas in Hebrew, or the very similar sounding Jesus in English.

Joshua, or correctly spelt Yeoshuas, is also pronounced as Jeshas in Hebrew, or the very similar sounding Jesus in English. Since the "o" and "u" would be silent.

The name of Jesus is a Hebrew name meaning Ehjeh saves.

"Jesus", is a Spanish name.

Jesus is used because that is tradition. I know the name is not his Hebrew name but that is how it is pronounced in Western countries so that is what we use. If one were to go to church this Sunday and suddenly the pastor was speaking of Yeshua, most people would be highly confused.

It is the same with the letter "i" in Greek. Iesous is pronounced as Jesous, which is close to the Hebrew and English.

The Old Testament character who we normally think of as Joshua had a Hebrew name.
The OT was translated into Greek because most Jews in the Mediterranean sphere of civilization spoke Greek.
So Joshua's name got a Greek version, from which was derived a standardized version, which became a very common name among Jews of the late BC era.
That standard form is what you see in the New Testament.
Jesus did not have a "Hebrew" name.
He had a Jewish name, Jesus.

Jesus is a Hebrew name. Jesus was the correct pronounciation of Joshua's name. It means Ehjeh saves.

It doesnt matter whether you call him Jesus or Yeshua. Also, Alexander the Great conquered that entire area, and there is a very good case made for them speaking Greek.
