yeah, that doesnt hold to much water actually. there could be a number of reasons these people were found this way. Just like when people would put bricks in the mouths of their dead. I assume it is the same deal with the stake as well. A lot of frightened people who did not know about science. I did hear that Abe Lincoln was a vampire hunter once though!!

Sure it's not Jesus?

Jesus had metal stakes.

Vampires have wooden stakes.

According to the folklore.

So technically, the vampire is not dead according Van Helsing!!!!

Either that or it proves there were a lot of fear mongering (He walks the yard all night...it's not insomnia. It's Vampirism.) folks around back then too...

I like the Vampire lore myself. But who knows?

The vampire mythology will be VERY important in teh future.

As humanity reaches for immortality the issues vampires face in our media will become more relatable to teh general population.

Infinity is a long time.. and in the future its gonna be alot harder to die.

Vampires in general could be a metaphor for people with negative entities attached to them, feeding off the energy of those in negative emotional states.

Who knows? Dracula was inspired by Dracul The Impaler, whom the British Royalty have claimed a direct lineage to. Makes you wonder.

Vampires have an allergic reaction when in the presence of sunlight. If they were to come out during the day, the sun would obliterate them. By that same token, the moon reflects sunlight, so a vampire which came out during the evening would also be obliterated by the moon.

Also, staking a vampire is part of the Christian mythology for dealing with the undead. And, since Christianity is a bunch of BS, so is there methodology for dealing with monsters. The most common way to stop anything, is to cut off it's head. Vampires included.

That's really interesting.. Fear could have done that. Like with witches - People heard that witches were real, given a general description and killed innocent people because they were "evil". I think anything can be killed by a stake through the chest, not just vampires so I'm a little iffy with that tale.. But still, I wasn't there so I don't really know ^.^

yes, vampires were based on a true story of count dracula who was a war lord.

Open a thread with one sentence claiming 700 year old skeletons with spikes in their chests support that a mythical being is real.

You could at least provide a link so we have something to laugh at other then you.

Someone find Blade so we can rid ourselves of this evil.
