That seems to be the claim.

www.youtube.com...

A lot of contextual information remains to be provided.

It's the Tether incident UFO fellas it seems.

It also seems added in to the video. It's too clear and the moon is not in focus as well as this UFO is. Maybe a really expensive telescope has the features to focus in on closer objects, but I doubt this guy's scope can do that.

It definitely looks to be inserted into the video.

OMG Pacman's gone to the moon!

Seriously though, don't know what to make of that.

That's pretty good. It's one of those things from the tether incident video. Not sure why you need contextual info for something lifted off of an already debunked video.

I don't think it's added as it appears transparent and you can see the moon behind it.

Also, that's exactly what the moon looks like through my 12" orion telescope.

If you look at the rest of the videos on this guys Youtube channel you will see there are 2 bad UFO videos , 1 chemtrail video and 6 very fake 'strange sky sounds' videos.

This guy is undoubtedly a serial hoaxer

It seems to look a lot like the supposed artifact, sonar images, being investigated in the Baltic Sea....

I've seen this same UFO image in other videos. Is it in some stock UFO file where you can copy and paste into your video...

That's what's cool about it. I'm not a video guy but how hard would it be to overlay one video on top of another and make the top one transparent? I'm going to guess not very.

The video promises to provide new insights into how the notched disk can appear in the camera optics.

Whereever it leads, I expect better understanding of this kind of evidence.

One big question: did the observers actually SEE anything during the recording session, or only afterwards.

Also -- how come nobody else watching the moon that evening saw anything -- or did they?

The possibility remains it is a CGI hoax using STS-75 images patched onto a moon view.

But it also can be an entirely innocent and surprising video artifact of some kind.

Knowing more is always better.

Whether it supports your going-in beliefs, or even better, when it doesn't.

Definitely a possibility.

The object is either associated with the moon, or the telescope optics -- I don't think it would be a nearby object [several feet from telescope] for the following reason.

The celestial sphere "moves" about one degree every four minutes, and since the moon is half a degree in diameter, in the course of the two minute video it would have shifted one entire diameter.

But it didn't, so some sort of motion compensation is being used, either a motorized drive or manual adjustment.

Anything between the telescope and the moon would NOT be shifting with the celestial sphere so it would have moved out of the field of view entirely.

I don't know how to interpret this clue, but there are optics and observation folks here who do.

Transparent like Venus was when it crossed the sun?

Watch at 0:07 mark as you can see the sun through Venus...

I don't trust much these days, it seems that 99% of what we're shown is bogus.

Thanks, Julie. Does the jumpiness look like automatic tracking, or manual?

It looks like a type of bokeh we've seen often enough.
Maybe it's caused by a piece of dust inside the lens.

Tether UFO's explained and duplicated:

This is a possible explanation, but I've never seen these from a ground telescope.

Youtubers comment
I was filming the Moon when what looks like a giant transparent UFO appeared.

They say they did but I'd say they didn't otherwise I would expect if they saw this apparent UFO traversing the Moon they would have tracked it rather than just carry on filming the Moon .
Kind of hints at hoax , I'm tempted to go with Jibby here as I don't see any other explanation .

I say it leads into the hoax bin.

Here is another one of his videos..

Why not start with the basics? Get a screen shot of one of those things from the tether video and see if you can get an exact match. There is not a lot of video to look at. My candidate would be at 4:20 of this
