Pelosi: Catholic Archdioceses Not ‘Speaking’ for Catholic Church When They Sued Administration

Well Nancy, if you get a whole bunch of Catholic Archdioceses suing, who then would you say is involved if not The Church ?

Maybe it's too technical.

I think She is jockeying for position pending the Supreme Court's "interpretation" of ObamaCare.

And, She is Catholic also (supposedly)

(CNSNews.com) - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) said on Thursday that the 43 Catholic institutions—including the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., and the Archdiocese of New York--that are suing the Obama administration over its regulation mandating that all health-care plans must cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients are not speaking for the Catholic Church.

CNSNews.com asked Pelosi, who is Catholic, whether she supported her church in the lawsuits it has filed, which argue that the administration’s regulation violates the freedom of religion guaranteed by the First Amendment.

All it took was a simple question to get her on the defensive......

The Question...

“What about the 43 Catholic institutions [that] have now sued the administration over the regulation that requires them to provide contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortifacients in their health care plans?” CNSNews.com asked. “They say that violates their religious freedom. Do you support the Catholic Church in their lawsuits against the administration?”

The diversionary answer...

“Well, I don’t think that’s the entire Catholic Church,” Pelosi responded. “Those people have a right to sue, but I don’t think they’re speaking ex cathedra for the Catholic Church.

“And there are people in the Catholic Church, including some of the bishops, who have suggested that some of this may be premature,” Pelosi said.

She never did answer the question

Ba Ba Ba But

On other occasions, Pelosi has volunteered opinions about her religious faith and how it impacts her legislative agenda.

In 2010, speaking at a conference at the Capitol, Pelosi said the her favorite word was “the Word,” namely, Jesus Christ, and that she believed she had an obligation to “give voice to what the means in terms of public policy.”

Message to Pelosi:

Dear Nancy Pelosi,

It's not that I haven't enjoyed your silly antics, questionable stances, and rhetoric that you bring to the table, But enough... well, is enough. Lets just check out something that you said in the past that reiterates this point.

“The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.’

Not to nit pick, but Nancy... would you please direct me to the particular part of the texts in which this is directly said? I would also like to point out, that I do admire the persistence in which you have displayed in the face of opposition. Even if your stance is unConstitutional, and forces the US citizens to purchase something as a condition of citizenship, or face a fine. Here's another great example to reiterate this point:

You go through the gate. If the gate’s closed, you go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we’ll pole-vault in. If that doesn’t work, we’ll parachute in. But we’re going to get health care reform passed for the American people.

Next, I also sincerely appreciate the eye for technical details, and your willingness to fulfill your duties. We know you care, that's why you take as much time as needed before making any rash judgements. This can't be seen any more clearly than in the following:

“We have to pass the (health care) bill so you can find out what is in it”.

O' wait... Sorry Nancy, my mistake... you aren't appreciated. Not until people see you and Obama for what you really are. Progressive... Socialists who could care less about the freedoms of an individual, and think they know what is best for all. That is a dogma that will abandon you quicker than Herman Cain at planned parent hood.

Look up!

I couldn't pass this one up:

Doug Powers:

“In the real world, demonstrating lunacy of this magnitude is known as a “cry for help” and an intervention involving large nets, straight-jackets and electric shock therapy is in order. But not in Washington, DC, where free-range crazies are allowed to pick pockets, loot futures, and all too often get re-elected”.

Now that's how you earn a star.

Since when have people not been saying stuff like, "but no, really, answer the question." "Do they have a legitimate claim, or not? If not, why?"
CNSnews reporter huh? How about we get a real person asking the questions and not some bought, faceless mass media puppet.

Seeing holder dodge congress pissed me off earlier today. I don't get why we let them get away with stuff like this. Political correctness? Washington needs a reality check.

Why hasn't she been excommuicated?

Why hasn't the Vatican dipatched an exorcist?

Why hasn't she been taking her medication?

Why is my post nothing but questions?

Breaking News:

Inexplicably, and even though Pope Benedict XVI was still alive and reported in good health, American Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi declared herself the new Pope, taking on the name Magdalena I, and surrendered the sovereignty of the Vatican to U.S. authority, rendering her own benediction dubbed American Council I. In this she repealed thousands of years of Catholic dogma because, as Pope Magdalena put it, the Catholic dogma of the past 1500 years does not accurately reflect, nor speak for the Catholic Church, and announced that abortions were not only now okay with the Church but were encouraged among the poorer Catholic families.

Oh Nancy, Nancy, Nancy...

Her use of terms belies her lack of knowledge related to them. ONLY the Pope speaks ex cathedra, not individual Catholics. And the Pope has only spoken ex cathedra 2 times in the history of the papacy.

This issue is not up for grabs, no matter how much Pelosi thinks she is still in communion with the Catholic Church, which she isn't, as she has excommunicated herself multiple times by now.

I guess it will take Catholics getting arrested, murdered or just "disappeared"... again.
