President Barack Obama is under growing pressure to apologise to Poland after the country's prime minister publicly rebuked him for making reference to "Polish death camps" in the Second World War.

In an extraordinary reprimand from a European leader to an American president, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Mr Obama said "offended all Poles" with his words.

"When someone says 'Polish death camps,' it is as if there were no Nazis, no German responsibility, as if there were no Hitler," Mr Tusk said.

Radek Sikorski, the Polish foreign minister, was more blunt. In a late-night message on Twitter he accused the White House of "ignorance and incompetence" and demanded an apology for the "outrageous error"

The Telegraph

How can Barack Hussein Obama displays such ignorance and incompetence?

Good luck getting it, the American people have been awaiting our apology as well. Although, it would be apology enough if he simply withdrew himself from the presidential race.

His staff did apologize about the gaffe actually.
The PM of Poland of course wants more...not sure what more mind you.

I am curious what the right will want now.
Should they demand Obama apologize to poland more earnestly, or demand he stop apologizing as they have been saying.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

What would Romney do (the guy whom states flatly he will never apologize).

This is apparently what happens when Obama isn't reading off a teleprompter. I'm quite certain Obama has no idea what happened during WWII or what countries were even involved.

Obama pulls a Biden.....
Just another "misspoken" error... Note to Obama... when discussing death camps always lead off with with the "nazi" descriptive. The Polish people were the victims in their own backyard... Obama's writers are clearly lacking these days. Just recently Obama mentioned "his sons" in more than one teleprompter speech.

Is someone messing with him knowing that he reads the prompter with a glazed look without ever comprehending what he is repeating??

Wait, so the concentration camps in Poland and worked by Poles were actually French? Polynesian maybe?

From a country still run by the catholic church and who gleefully helped slaughter 12 million people with the Nazis during WWII, they certainly got a set on them to demand an apology. Sure Poland, you were occupied and had no other choice but to simply do what you were told; spread w/e BS you want to paint yourselves as victims... Nuremberg was short a couple of villains IMO.

And Turkey didn't slaughter the Armenians.

people really do wait with baited breath to catch even the slightest slip of the tongue by the president. Pretty sad, really, that we cling to this stuff instead of REAL issues.

I agree there are bigger issues, but it is good to highlight these to rebuff the weird assumption in the chattering classes (certainly here in Europe), that Obama is some sort of intellectual guru, when he patently isn't and is on a par with GWB

So thats what politics are now? "they did it to my candidate, I'm gonna do it to theirs, nener nener"

At what point do we raise the level of discourse above that of a middle school playground?

Pointing out gaffes does not mean the level of discourse is that of a middle school playground- depends how it is done of course, but it is justifiable to highlight them to destroy this notion of this "savvy" President

I don't think your input is necessary since we already know what your going to say about your boy....You talk about REAL issues something your boy hasn't solved since he has been President....

To the OP...BO should just man up and apologize personally instead of having his staff do everything for him to cover his ass..We already see enough of that on this site...

Slightest slip of the tongue? The Nazi Death Camps I would say were a fairly big deal and to blame the Polish for them (Which Obama did) is no small gaff. Obama is an idiot and not worthy of the office he holds.

Well then I appoint you to read the T+C to the bone head.
Are you up to it? We need allies not enemies.

As an American I would like to apologize to the people of Poland for Our Presidents stupidity (even though I didn't vote for the guy). If President Obama had spent more time in college reading American history (which would have told him about the Second World War and who actually ran the death camps the #ING NAZIS) instead of Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto perhaps this gaff would have not occurred.
