A naked man was shot dead by police as he apparently ate the face of another man on the slipway of a six-lane road.

The victim, who was also naked, is in intensive care fighting for his life after the attack in Miami.

The man suffered severe facial injuries as the attacker bit his eyes and chewed off his nose, with up to 80% of his face affected.
