Senate Approves Alliance of Government and Drug Corporations

The U.S. Senate passed the "Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act" (S. 3187) a.k.a. "FDASI" on May 24th.

It passed massively 96-1-3

The bill has something to do with a $6.4 billion “agreement fee” between some giant pharmaceutical corporations and the FDA itself !!!!!

The FDASI is part of Obama’s program to use the US government and drug makers together to discover new ways to use old drugs; as well as find new pharmaceutical answers to new diseases.

Drug manufacturers like Eli Lily & Co, Pfizer Inc, AstraZeneca Plc, and Medtronic Inc will provide regulatory reviews of new medical treatments and healthcare devices. The FDASI extends through to 2017.

The FDASI allocates “use fees” to the FDA as payment for “safety and efficiency reviews”.

Drug manufacturers and medical device makers are anxious to work with the US government. This will mean their treatments will be reviewed and approved faster than they currently are. The FDASI specifies that certain measures be taken to expedite the approval of medical treatments under the guise of “life-threatening” or rush monitoring devices to mitigate drug shortages.

The FDASI quite simply ensures more profits for drug corporations.

The article goes on about foreign drug prices and vitamins.

The FDASI also requires dietary supplement makers register their products with the FDA; including a list of ingredients.

Currently, the vitamin industries, by order of the Codex Alimentarius (CA) are being attacked by the US government to justify the forced outlawing of natural medicine.

The CA is a creation of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The CA seeks to enforce international standards and codes on nations.

By controlling the means of medicine production, transportation and distribution, the CA will ensure the standards set forth by the UN are the basis for all national legislation.

Obama signed Executive Order (EO), Establishing the National Prevention, Health Promotion and Public Health Council in 2010.

Through this EO, Obama empowered the CA to enact the UN’s plan for global governance over healthcare standards.

(article opinion):

While the Obama administration seeks to wipe out the natural medicine industry, the US government is pouring money and resources into the genetic engineering of pharmaceuticals to combat disease.

When natural remedies are completely outlawed, the general public will be forced to take drugs rather than heal naturally through diet and vitamins.

The medical agenda is clear.

The relationship created between the US government and the drug corporations has laid the foundation for medical tyranny.

I might be wrong but, this sounds like the fox providing an unaudited egg inventory

But then again, all the government would do is hire former industry people as consultants and overseers anyway

You can't fight city hall it seems !!

Is this an example of a Marxist / Corporatist agenda ??

It seems that some people will do just about anything to get ahead, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise when a mostly falsified study is released to put down what is primarily known as a fundamentally healthy and intelligent choice.

Unfortunately, people still will try to spread discord amongst their fellow man in an apparent attempt to get ahead; sacrificing the good of the people is unfortunately a small price to pay for an insurmountably large personal gain, in many cases.

This dishonest act can be seen in one such case of misinformation – a 'study' performed in order to bring the market for multivitamins and other very respectable health supplements down a notch.

So the people that approve the drugs for use on humans are now going to be making the profits from them? This is a dangerous road to go down.

Isn't the point of having the FDA to make sure these companies are providing a safe drug and not just getting rich selling snake oil?

Am I confused here??

The final straw will be when Monsanto poisons all the noxious weeds around the world so there will be no natural medicine.

It appears government has just declared war on mankind. There is no freedom left after this.

I suppose we will just fall in line and drink our kool-aid as ordered. Our diet is now dictated, and it is not a healthy one.

While it may be a good idea to look at ways to use older medications in new ways and possibly save by having more applications for lower-priced generic drugs there just seems to be too many apparent down-sides with this new unholy alliance.

Others will hit the herb stores and empty them out like a dose of salts. STOCK UP NOW on any natural substance you use regularly as it will be gone before you know it.

The bipartisan support may as well be an admission the political regime now considers that freedom to pander to corporate sponsor is their entitlement.

I can no longer pretend that their is a hope the corporate tentacles may be severed from within the system.

The political party system needs to be humiliatingly torn asunder...

Yet our children's indoctrination smacks of producing anything but the well-informed, free citizens we need to solve this dystopian nightmare.

Your post speaks volumes.

The FDA was to protect Americans, now it seems to be more about lining the profits of the pharmaceutical industry. Meanwhile we spend three times the defense budget on medical care in this country yet we are among the most sick of the western world.

Something is obviously broken.

They already did this once, along with insurance companies. Most people today call the alliance "Obamacare".

This is a way for drug companies to maximize profits.

They regularly retool old drugs once their patents expire

Which allows them to retain ownership of the drug and

Charge the steep fees before the formula becomes

Common place. Many drugs are actually old drugs remarketed

To treat other issues based upon their clinical effects.

For example a certain anti depressant also reduced the urge

To smoke, so Wellbutrin became Chantix. The thing is

I believe the FDA used to require the drug companies to

Retest the drugs in their new "rolls" and not release them

Based upon a side effects correlation. Sounds to me like

Some on this is a simple way to stream line that and save

The drug companies money based upon past and present

Usage data. Business as usual... $$$ long live the corporation

This is what is referred to as "deregulation" the act of doing it, not

Just talking about it behind a podium
