Government control of the internet. FEMA Camps. Billions of dollars given to other countries. Regulations on how to protest...

Tell me, when did we (of any nation) give the government free reign on decision-making? Unless it's an emergency, like being attacked by another country, or a natural disaster or plague of some kind, why can't decisions, policies, and laws wait to be voted on once a year? The government prints up a list of proposals and mails them to every citizen. We check off 'yes' or 'no' on each item and then mail it back.

This way we can say, "No, we do not want a million dollars wasted on researching the mating habits of the common housefly." "Don't touch the internet." "Don't interfere with the affairs of other countries." "Do not place unrealistic regulations on small businesses." "No, you cannot START a war with Iran."...

The ONLY way to have less government in our lives is for every individual to take more of a hands-on approach to what needs to be done. If we don't, we are doomed to suffer run-away governments.
