I know they help people out, (here and there) missionary, african support and all that jazz, i know they use it for taxes and other business things, I know they use it for gold plated necklaces and gold displays.

but what about the rest?

Where does the money go? We really do not know? We know they have a lot of it, but what are they using it for? It is obviously not so much on the MSM, nor do we really know...

all this money and no one makes any power moves, i find it interesting, and some what alarming

They swim in it?

Pay taxes? They pay themselves to taxes? No church in the USA pays taxes. I'd agree that a lot of it goes to charitable things world wide but from what else we can see they also pay for churches which are usually beautiful & full of expensive things, also their wardrobe (except for nuns, sorry ladies), vehicles, insurance, food, ultility bills, air fare (do they own private jets/planes?), educational departments, all employees (benefits/retirement/etc), misc items, and child molestation settlements. Did I miss anything?

edit: I did miss something, lawyers, doh

The Vatican is just that, a bank period..the largest in the world. I read an article not too long ago that stated that the three most powerful entities in the world are; The Vatican, the bank of England, and Washington D.C.

Like all corporations; they server their board.

the money they siphon goes to the families at the top of the pyramid.

That's great, we should do that here in America
. They're already falling apart due to lack of new membership. They've already made commercials asking for people to come back to the Catholic church, lulz. Oh yeah, we can add Advertisement to the list.

that commercial is so funny. Raping children one at a time. Honestly, the best way to rape children is to go into other civilizations. Remember that south park episode where Chef become a pedophile, (did i spell that right) anyways, he joins an organization that travels the globe to rape children. sounds like missionary work

Point to add; The Vatican dont pay no taxes, neither do any of their churches. ANYWHERE!

Spending? I dont know, but they have lots. The kind of money you buy small countries with.

Well, for starters, they invest it in places like the Vatican Observatory.

As well as other scientific endeavors, I'm sure.

Then there's always the Vatican guard. Gotta keep these guys paid, and in costume...er...uniforms.

And though you can't find an image of it, the Vatican supposedly has their own DUMB's.

It isn't cheap to preserve artwork and books in the manner in which they're doing it.

I'll cut them some slack for being custodians of history.

If I am a Catholic and I write a check on Sunday, where does that money go? Does the local parish send a percentage to the diocese which in turn sends a percentage upstream until it finds its way into the Vatican? Wouldn't the local parish pay directly for most of the items you listed?

According a friend who works on a Parish Board and another in investment banking. The board member also describes the difficult job of telling Priests to stop giving it all away on every person who asks for financial help and going bankrupt as a few have in the past. I don't know first hand, but it sounds like a difficult job being in the business of charity.
