Repopulation Question

I have question regarding repopulation

If earth were to face an extention level event then how many breeding pairs of humans (genetically diverse) will need to survive in order to repopulate the earth.

The other question that I have is how much time will it take to achieve a sustainable population level? Keep in mind that due to non existent modern medical facilities the deat rate will be high and the average age will be lower so then is there a mathematical calculation to determine the breeding pairs and the time required to repopulate the earth and have a sustainable population.

Also if an extention level event to hit earth today then based on current genetic diversity from which regions of the world will the breeding pairs have to be chosen to have maximum possible genetic diversity.?

I think you mean an Extinction Level Event correct?

It would take at least 1800 to 2200 Humans with a ratio of 4 Women to each man. Yahoo! LOL!

As far as diversity...there is enough diversity of people in any major American City so...

Well genetic diversity leads to problems so i guess we wouldn't be around for long anyway.

wouldn't that be weird if there were very well established modern and very much human underground base cities that young woman had been taken into as young girls and never knew of much else but life inside those walls.

what if abduction and missing children is related to this in some way. what if elite men take the young pretty girls underground in government funded projects, not because of alien studies and genetic experiments... but to live seemingly happily until it all comes apart and then in the aftermath, they intend to just breed and breed and breed.

man!...if there ARE underground secret bases that are blocked off to the public, it is potentially a MAJOR human rights violation to not be able to go down there and check out what is going on, you know.

this needs to be understood and overwritten by correcting the laws that would enable them to pull a stunt like and call it national security.

The thing is... there ARE underground structures meant for living. we need to go down there and check out what's going on and put it on TV... even if it's not true. SOMETHING is going on down there. there is no reason we shouldn't be allowed to know... or even others in the government who SHOULD have access, yet DON'T.

Why wouldn't people just do what comes naturally, and make sure they're not already related? The rest would sort itself out. Some countries already have a lot of genetic diversity.

When Toba erupted about 70,000 years ago it has been estimated thru DNA studies that the world population declined to about 10,000 (from how many?).

I think the number of survivors would depend on the type of event. Would we still be able to grow crops, in other words no multi year nuclear winter.

Ever notice how many people have a twin,. or someone that really is closely similar?

there was a great bottlenecking of the gene pool,, something very catastrophic has already occured to bring what researchers believed a large population down to a few,,, globally..
