Why would UFO's be disk shaped?

if you think about it, a disk shape is the perfect design for craft with the capabilites that they have

up down left right, side to side, any direction no problem

a plane shape would be usless because they can only go forwards, a disk shape are the obvious choice.

however, with the tech they have, aerodynamics are not much of a concern
