As an Aussie...I can assure you that the original pic posted is a toy...The video however is a real wombat.

Not really, there was no intent to fool anyone. And as it turns out, real images showed up later that proved the original post to be factual. Baby Wombats do exist, and they are cute little critters.

I was first going to say that I didn't think wombats were intended to interact with humans, because they generally don't seem to know how to respond to us.

Then I began to ponder the question of whether or not wombats were intended to interact with humans.

Then I realised the profoundly schizophrenic nature of that question.
