Strange. the camera shot of the buidings is the same that when a russian video-ed a UFO in 2011, exactly in that spot.
Strange. I can't explain the green.

Russia has terrible regulations when it comes to their oil refineries, I wouldn't be surprised if this was just pollution they caused themselves. But, I'm not going to be shocked if it was something out of the ordinary as well, got to keep an open mind in this day and age.

Green skies 26 years to the day after Chernobyl. It's just pollen, go back to sleep.

A green sky can sometimes be a precursor to a tornado, other then that... I'm not sure what caused them over there. Interesting, none the less.

I'm in no way a pollen specialist, but I have never seen anything like this. Anyone reporting strange smells or skin irritation?

Apparently it isn't just Moscow...

DRIVERS WARNED AS POLLEN CLOUD MENACE HEADS FOR UK

A MENACING cloud of acidic birch pollen – which eats into the paintwork of cars – is blowing towards Britain from Europe.

Millions of cars could be affected at the end of the week when the pollen reaches the UK.
To compound the misery, hay fever sufferers are being warned of a “nightmare scenario” of the cloud arriving at the same time as pollen levels are rising in Britain.

The birch pollen cloud has already hit Germany, where authorities have warned motorists to immediately wash it off their cars – or risk damage that could result in owners having to fork out for a full respray.

However there are many reports of green clouds in large thunder storm systems where the green colouration is well defined, coming from specific areas of cloud, and in manner that it is unlikely caused by ground reflection.

optics.kulgun.net...

This site makes it seem like they're rather normal but I've never witnessed a green cloud?

Using this explanation green clouds are likely when thunderstorm with heavy rain are strongly illuminated from behind by reddish sunlight, such as at sunset. The high water content of the cloud absorbs red light, resulting in a green colouration. The studies model also predicts that the colour will be blue-green for larger rain drops, and yellow-green for smaller.

This explanation does not require hail in the cloud. However it does require a very high water content which may only occur in thunderstorms which are likely to also produce hail. Thus in SE Queensland it may be that storms that produce hail also appear to have green clouds, but the colour is coincidental and not due to the hail.

Checked the Moscow weather for yesterday and today - Thunder storms - seems to be explainable

And don't forget the pink snow. I don't know if these events are all natural occurances or not. I do know Russia sure is a colorful country though.

Green clouds are never good. They could mean anything from severe thunderstorms/tornado's are imminent, to the potential for a chemical spill or even pollen as was claimed.
The only chemical I can think of that would cause this level of green would be chlorine gas, but if it was chlorine, the photographer would have been dead before he even uploaded the images.

Why is this in the UFO section? There is nothing at all linking this to a possible "alien" origin of the clouds.

pollen....that eats paint off of cars?! i'm skeptical of that explanation.

“Birch pollen is the first of the tree pollens released every year, so if you already have symptoms it means you are allergic to this pollen rather than grass pollen.

i've never heard of green clouds like that caused by pollen, yet apparently it happens every year?

Could be a Chlorine spill, but to cause green clouds as shown in the video it would have to be ONE massive Chlorine spill...

If you were a cloud and you sailed up there,
You sail on water as blue as air,
You'd see me here in the fields and say,
"Doesn't the sky look green today?"

It could very well be pollen, unless they were also lying in this news paper article from 1987
