I was doing some research about something that interests me and i came across this real time Wind map of the U.S. , go ahead and check it out, it's rather freaky, better yet, its pretty cool...

Surface wind data comes from the National Digital Forecast Database. These are near-term forecasts, updated once per hour. So what you're seeing is close to live data. (See the NDFD site for precise details; our timestamp shows time of download.) And for those of you chasing top wind speed, note that maximum speed may occur over lakes or just offshore.



Not exactly live data, but it is really neat!!!

That's pretty cool, I wonder if there is one for Canada. I guess there should be and might have to check for it. I was just hoping someone else has a link.

Glad you all like the site :-)

You can use this site and a screen shot of the weather in your state if there happens to be an extreme weather storm as its also in real time. What i had in mind is these two simple methods can support your thread and allow members or viewers to follow through ongoing threads or reports about storms within your state.

Here in Missouri we have had one day with out wind that I can remember .. all year.. I have leaves everywhere because we can not burn.. ONE DAY to burn is not enough...
