Not to worry though we have plenty of idiots here who are hell bent in following Britain etc. down the stupid trail.

For decades, the U.S. healthcare system was the envy of the entire world. Not coincidentally, there was far less government involvement in medicine during this time. America had the finest doctors and hospitals, patients enjoyed high-quality, affordable medical care, and thousands of private charities provided health services for the poor. Doctors focused on treating patients, without the red tape and threat of lawsuits that plague the profession today. Most Americans paid cash for basic services, and had insurance only for major illnesses and accidents. This meant both doctors and patients had an incentive to keep costs down, as the patient was directly responsible for payment, rather than an HMO or government program.

The lesson is clear: when government and other third parties get involved, health care costs spiral. The answer is not a system of outright socialized medicine, but rather a system that encourages everyone — doctors, hospitals, patients, and drug companies — to keep costs down. As long as “somebody else” is paying the bill, the bill will be too high. www.lewrockwell.com...

American's private insurance is more expensive.

If you are so right, post up the fact jack, or face the facts that you are actually the "tard" here
America's insurance expenditure will reach half of the GDP in fifteen years if it continues
on at this rate Albert Einstein.

SIgh... I did post the facts, not the brightest bulb in the bunch are you. You have to count the taxes that are paid to government to subsidize the health care that is the true cost not just insurance costs.

Only issue being what I said earlier…

In America an average of $6719 is spent on healthcare, in Britain the same money works out as $2815
The original statistics are from here…
www.guardian.co.uk...

So surely it’s better to be taxed at less than half the money, it costs Americans to pay from their own pockets?
Especially when it’s causing over 60% of bankruptcies, not covering 16.3% of the population at all, and overall provides much less? Never mind reluctance to see a doctor must be one reason why life expectancy is 2 years lower.

In Britain only 19.03% of total government spending is on health.
Defence is 20% of US Federal spending
en.wikipedia.org...:U.S._Federal_Spending_-_FY_2010.svg
Our government gets by on just 5.71% (at 39 billion)

Britain had an argument against state health care. It finished in 1948! God only knows how many lives (and how much money that has saved).
As said earlier: Taxing (at 33 percent) the extra GDP in Americans pockets (from a 100% free health service) would nearly provide the 6.3% the British model would require (6.3% given GDP British GDP is 25% lower).

The real reason why…
Our economy is suffering under taxation has nothing to do with health or education, but all 3 parties socialist tendencies, to unite against what most of the British electorate actually want, which out of the 683 billion they spend…

207 billion on social protection (i.e. benefits)
21 billion Housing and the Environment (almost all of this is giving people money so they can rent houses, problem is the government will not allow enough homes to be built, which is the real UK problem, and so this money just ends up increasing rents for everybody on Housing Benefit or not)
19 billion on subsidies to industry & agriculture
9 billion on foreign aid (mostly dictatorships, who keep their people poor because of it) forums.digitalspy.co.uk...

I.e. Just from the above, a good 256 billion (37.48% is mostly unnecessary). I like the American model where people can’t be on benefits for life –usually living better than those who work.

Also…
Another 46 billion on “Other” (9 billion of which is to said foreign aid)
33 billion on social services (mostly essential like taking children away from abusive parents, or helping old people, in their homes, but full of waste)

See pie Chart of UK Expenditure Here, published by Government…
www.flickr.com...

I know Brit’s do not support this level of spending on benerfits. I also know there is nobody we can vote for (who will win) who do what most people want. In this way America and Britain are very similar, as far as the political ellite having a “cross party consensus” (i.e. conspiracy) against those who elect them.

Again your not taking into account the enormous taxes Brits pay to make up the differential. The article is skewed for effect pure and simple. Socialized medicine still has to be paid for one way or another that is what the marxist always leave out. if the government subsidizes it so the average person pays less out of pocket the money still comes out of their pockets in taxes to make up the difference. Why people cannot understand this is why I started this thread www.abovetopsecret.com...

There is a column named "General government expenditure on health as % of total expenditure on health" so how can you say that tax money going to healthcare is not taken into account? The differential is there even when taking into account the enormous taxes.

Thats because this study only quantifies the cost of care given. It you all are paying more in taxes than what it is costing your government to provide healthcare, than it is pretty obvious that money is paying for something else instead The point of the study to be taken is that Britian takes better care of their people for much less money than the USA. It has nothing to do with the fairness of your tax system.

Actually they do and it is you who, even after it has been pointed out that taxes have been taken into account, refuse to accept the fact. It isn't even about comprehension. It is flat out denial.

I read the first half of your post .. the section called Rather - is racists and will cause more problems than it will solve.

It's like blacks and mexicans are willing to work cheaper cus it's the only jobs offered to them - so this will reduce health care costs.. er.. this is Stupid and racists. If the UK is outsourcing the NHS with people from third world countries " because they are willing to work cheap" then the NSH is wrong.

This doesn't solve any problems at all. It keeps people dependent on the same problems we face now. Right for America? not on your life. Your whole thread is thus garbage.

We need a different way of looking at these problems, not more of the same which creates problems which you propose.

When they get put on a massive waiting list and opt for treatment now, where do they go? The United States. Within 5 minutes you can Google 100 stories of people getting put on a waiting list for the treatment of life threatening ailments or the treatments the doctor prescribing not being covered.

A letter from the Moncton Hospital to a New Brunswick heart patient in need of an electrocardiogram said the appointment would be in three months. It added: "If the person named on this computer-generated letter is deceased, please accept our sincere apologies."

Rich people come from the world over to PURCHASE American health care. While poor Americans wait to die without treatment.
