Coke, Pepsi changing colour to avoid 'carcinogen' label

Coca Cola and Pepsi will make a manufacturing process modification for the soft drinks caramel colouring to avoid a California law that would have forced them to label the drinks carcinogenic.

"The Coca-Cola Company asked its caramel suppliers to make the necessary manufacturing process modification to meet the requirement of the State of California’s Prop 65," company spokesman Ben Sheidler said in a release. "As a result, no warning is required.

I thought it was interesting news so I wanted to share.

I don't drink soft drinks simply because I think it's not very healthy.
And I truly wonder why people still drink this poison.

I am a 52 year old active Professional Firefighter over 30 years on the job and still going strong (for 52) My bacon eating happens about 1 meal a month. Coke about 2-3 a week, ice tea and coffee every damn day!

It's not the Color, its the way they go about processing the Carmel Color that Carcinogenic and cancer causing.

I'm glad i quit drinking the crap when Bottle Openers were still required
