Netanyahu expected to press Obama to threaten Iran with military action

www.foxnews.com

Senior Israeli officials say Israel would have to act by summer in order to be effective. U.S. officials, wary that an Israeli strike could drive up oil prices and entangle the U.S. in a new Mideast military confrontation during the presidential election season, want to give diplomacy and sanctions more time to work.

Seems like there's a serious conflict of interests here between these two allies. Israel "requires" a strike soon for "effectiveness." The US isn't anywhere near prepared to engage in such a difficult and expensive fight just yet.

There's certainly much more going on behind the scenes with each country. Both have requirements. Leads one to wonder just what these requirements are.

Also, to make matters worse between these two:

Iran further complicates relations between Obama, Netanyahu

WASHINGTON – President Obama's relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been complicated by misunderstandings, diplomatic miscues and occasional differences of opinion.

Obama has angered Israelis and some American Jews with his call to halt settlements in the West Bank. Last time Netanyahu visited Washington, he embarrassed the president by lecturing him about Israel's history in front of the cameras. And at the G-20 summit in November, a hot mic caught Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy griping about the Israeli premier.

Obama should just tell him to f*ck off, the last thing the west needs is another war (started on false pretences).
If Israel wants to go for it let them... and if the rest of the middle east, or even the world gangs up on them they asked for it.
FFS why dont they give it a rest if they'd stop pissing off all their neighbours there would be NO problem, this crap has been going on since the day Israel was founded, NEVER forget the USS Liberty... thats the value they put on american lives.

They have been saying "we must strike soon" for the last 10 years. What's stopping them?

Do you both really want WW3 to start for no other reason than just "eh, go ahead, let them"?

Wow..

if Netanyahu isn't leading the first charge into Iran, then no one should.

or he should be tried in International court for endangering people's lives, since they tried that crap with Gaddaffi and he wasnt even the aggressor.

If they do strike Iran - The Presidential Election Season will be the very least of their worries. It also ensures Obama stays in office!

It really is time for the Tin Hats when the talk has reached this point.

Looking at it all, there just seems to be more things involved than just the elections, no?

The Israelis?

Well, they got plenty of guns and money from America by repeating the same mantra for the last 10 years. Are there any indications that this "help" is going to stop if they keep repeating it? Or the flipside of the coin; are there any indications that this "help" would stop if they stopped repeating the mantra? ;-)

Who is the second biggest shareholder after Murdoch? ahhh yes the Saudis, maybe the Saudis should just attack Iran.

Its an Israeli/Saudi joint op in my opinion. Both don't want to make a mess of their holy sites so a few hundred thousand dead Americans is the best option obviously.

We should obliterate Israel and Saudi (Jerusalem and Mecca) and start over.

The Saudis are the biggest COWARDS on this planet(next to Iranian regime supporters), as demonstrated by the 9/11 attacks. They would be DECIMATED against the Iranians and Kurds. Why do you think they have been playing foxy-twoface towards Iran for decades? Because they are afraid. They lack a proper culture and their main religion is Wahabi Islam which is the worst Islamic sect worldwide.

Every time Iran makes a move, Saudi Arabia bitches about it to their partners in America and Israel. Flipping cowards.

Israel will attack, but through whose controlled airspace is the question.
Iran will retaliate... Israel will play the victim card again..... oh noes, another Jewish holohoax, 6 million dead Jews etc...etc...blah...blah...blah... and they'll then threaten to use nuclear weapons unless the US / UK / Canada and all the other "friends" of Israel don't step in and finish the job. Simple nuclear blackmail.
As luck would have it, we all have large amounts of ships and aircraft sitting parked along Irans land and sea borders, quite by chance, that can be swung into action very quickly.

Nutty-yahoo will sit in his bunker grinning at how easy it is to get those dumb goys to do Israels dirty work again, then emerge and go on a guilt-tripping tour to make us all feel bad about any Jewish-Israeli victims, and how it is we that are responsible for their deaths by not bombing the crap out of Iran sooner.
Oh, and we'll be asked to pay compensation probably too for our lack of foresight and action, and to rebuild anything the Iranians hit.

As if...

maybe take some more magic pills.

When someone like Brezinski says that the US will NOT assist Israel in a military action against Iran, then Israel can be sure they stand without the US military. And no, just because you said it does not mean it's going to happen that way.

Thanks god Obama is NOT the guy who is in charge of USofA.On paper, he is, ofc, but in reallity, its just a pawn.
The real leaders of USofA will choose between these :
1.US will attack Iran while Israel will stay aside and eat missile strikes.
2.Israel will attack Iran while US will wait a little, then hoop in and finish the job, destroying iranian nuclear programm of delaying it for like 20 years.

The thing is...Iran WILL be attacked, and prety soon. The thing is, no matter who attacks Iran, Israel will get their share of missiles from Iran and Hezbollah at least, if not Syria also (that prety much depends on how the things will go on Syria).

If anyone believes that US is not prepared for a war Israel vs Iran + proxies, is delusional. The US is preparing for this for like 20 years at least and at a higher pace in last 3 years.Iran is NOT China or Russia.I agree, is NOT Iraq or Afghanistan either...but its military is outdated and small, even compared to Israel (in numbers).

Obama will keep playing the role of a peace lover, will not say anything concrete about Iran and red lines...while Israel will do keep playing the "we are a small country in a sea of arabs" and will throw the first stone.

No matter what people think or hope...US will be dragged in the inevitable and imminent war bewteen Israel and Iran.US HAVE to take Israel's side and we all know it.There are TOO MUCH interests in US having Israel the SOLE nuclear power in ME.

If Obama will CLEARLY take Israel's side on his speeches before/during/after the meetings that Israeli high officials (Netanyahu, Peres and Barak) there will be NO war before US elections. If Obama will be somehow against or will keep play the middle-ground "democracy and sanctions will work, but all options are on the table" card, an israeli attack before April is inevitable.

As I said on the other thread ... it won't happen. Obama doesn't like Israel .. and he hugs the Muslim Brotherhood (who hates Israel). Throw in his 20 years of indoctrination at the anti-Jewish Black Liberation Theology cult in Chicago .. and you have Obama doing nothing for Israel.

IT WON"T HAPPEN.

New York Times

JERUSALEM — The president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, told President Obama that he could no longer bear Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, and went on to call Mr. Netanyahu a “liar” in a private conversation overheard by several French journalists last week at the Group of 20 summit meeting in Cannes.

“You are fed up with him, but I have to deal with him even more often than you,” Mr. Obama replied, according to reports that flooded the main Israeli news sites on Tuesday.

Obama Snubs Netanyahu at the White House

The White House denied Netanyahu the red carpet treatment generally afforded to visiting heads of state. The Israeli prime minister and Obama didn’t pose for photos together, and Netanyahu was excluded from dinner with the president Tuesday night.

When Netanyahu wouldn’t agree to concessions, Obama left a meeting with him, though he invited Netanyahu to stay at the White House, talk to Obama advisers and “let me know if there is anything new,” a U.S. congressman who spoke to Netanyahu, told The Times of London. “It was awful,” the congressman said.

One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages,” conducted in such an adversarial environment that the Israeli delegation eventually left, worried that their White House phone conversations were being bugged. Another Israeli paper wrote that Netanyahu received “the treatment reserved for the president of Equatorial Guinea”.
