That may be an assumption on your part. How do you know this as a fact? I am not saying God does, but how can you make that assumption without really knowing?

The same way Christians make their assumptions without really knowing.
I am just going by the dogma.

You claim to be a Gnostic christian correct?

Have you read Pistis Sophia?

A "man who curses" is given a body that will be continually "troubled in heart". A "man who slanders" receives a body that will be "oppressed". A thief receives a "lame, crooked and blind body". A "proud" and "scornful" man receives "a lame and ugly body" that "everyone continually despises." Thus earth, as well as hell, becomes the place of punishment.

Hell does not exist... Gehenna was an actual place near Jerusalam... similar to a garbage dump, but with human bodies in it. They used sulfur to destroy the material there and apparently the fire "never ceased"... so the story goes..

Jesus uses the analogy "where the worm dieth not" in his explanation those that "go to" hell...

42And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

43And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

44Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

46Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

49For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

50Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

I would say "the worm"(symbolically) is the belief in the physical world, and the desires of the flesh... It grows and eats away at your spiritual development...

But as you see here and as anyone knows in real life "the salt" kills the worm.... and the salt is Good!

And everyone will be salted with fire... (the spirit)

And the last line ties it all together... Have salt(spirit) in yourselves...

and Have Peace with one another

I do label myself a Gnostic Christian naturalist.

I too do not read scriptures literally and am not sure what your question is.

Those passages speak basically about man learning to control his passions and invoke the carrot stick method of doing so.

Standard religious fare to me and advice that we get from many quarters.

Im saying "hell" doesn't exist, unless you believe it does...

And those passages from Pistis Sophia are speaking about what happens to a man after he dies... He is given a body that he deserves...

I asked you if you've read the material before? You being "Gnostic" that is...

Yes. I believe that I have read that before. Not in a literal way.

All religions are fantasy and myth.

Not in a literal way...

Meaning you don't believe what they tell you?

Whats the point of claiming to follow a religion, if you don't believe what said religion tells you?

Creation is the expression of the Creator, whose limitless knowledge is reflected in the infinitely unfolding dream-reality, through all that is being experienced in this ever-changing illusion that is singular existence.

In other words - all events are lessons, with all minds belonging to the original mind which spawned all of this.

Dig?

I would not know. I do not.

You could ask about 95 % of so called believers though.
They, if honest, will tell you that they follow tradition and culture and do not really believe.

Yawn.

More fantasy that is real.

So again, what is the point of labeling yourself a Gnostic Christian naturalist... if you don't believe what that label means?

I do.

Where did I say I did not believe what that label represents?

If God is everywhere, including watching in the bedroom, he may as well help by pushing on our hips.
