Yep, I was in the first of 2 cities where the cable modems were tested. I could never go back to dial up. I used to do tech support for HSD. One thing that can open up Windows (if you have windows) is TCPOptimizer. I select Optimal and move the slider up to around 30Mb/s and use the pull down menu to select the Wireless NIC and after you run it reboot and the speeds are opened up. Windows defaults are slow for broadband. You can do a speed test at any number of places on the net, and see what it is doing now and after you use TCPOptimizer to open it up and you will be suprised at the performance improvement.

TCP Optimizer 3.0.8

BTW, it does make a backup so if you find any negative effects you can reset it to the way it was.

Speakeasy has a speed test that is pretty good. I pull about a 26Mb/s
