The Secret Service provides security to candidates, but he can decline. My guess is that he probably did.
So, if Ron Paul wanted to be protected, he could be. But if he was, his supporters would likely complain about something... Maybe the way they're dressed or how tall they are.

No, Ron Paul's coverage has been anything but professinal. The establishment is becoming scared of him, they want him down and out. The problem is they can't find anything that will stick
