Just because someone thinks someone else should not develop or acquire the same technology you have, does not give you the right to prevent them from developing that technology.
ETA Who was the last (and I believe only) country to detonate a nuclear bomb on a foreign country?

edit on 6/1/12 by LightSpeedDriver because: ETA

edit on 6/1/12 by LightSpeedDriver because: Clarification

We used the nuke - we are the only country who has done so. I also find it digusting that we used it.

But also - the people we used it on commited a cowardly attack on our soil, killing thousands of people. They brought that destruction upon theirselves.

And yes, I think other countries do have the right to say you can't have a certain technology. There is a reason why those countries are the most powerful countries.

The mindset of the Middle Eastern people is horrible. Their way of life is an insult to human rights.

They have a bully mentality.

You want to know what they would do with a nuke? Watch a bully around a school yard and you will have your answer.

Have you ever visited this region? Have you ever watched anything about their social structur or their way of life?

If you truly have then you will know why other RESPONSIBLE countries do their best to keep these people from getting a weapon that will threaten the whole world.

Do you want to know why Stephen Harper says those things?

Because he is a Zionist.

How is it to have other people fight your wars for you?

It must be nice eh?

Their last major conflict was when they were invaded by Iraq. If being invaded is an act of aggression...

Anyways. Israel has all the nukes in the region. Surely that should be checked into, inspected etc. But nah, their crew in Washington only gives Israel money. Seems they don't want anything from them except weapons.

Much easier to start a war and take stuff you want, eh? And then everyone can settle down around the camp fire that is the industrial military complex and buy weapons of each other and decide where next to destroy for their natural resources.

I truly hope you are not saying the USA takes all of a regions natural resources. If you are you are not using your mind.

This nation is trillions of dollars in debt - mainly caused by two wars that were waged trying to help a regions people who could't help theirselves.

If we were stealing resources do you really think we would be in the debt we are?

Please....

Would these other countries be so patient?

You're kidding, right?

The fact is that if Israel were to use nuclear weapons against Iran, not only would they find themselves in a war with most of the Middle East, they would likely lose most of their allies. It's a nuclear weapon, for god's sake.

Hmmm, I don't seem to see the nuclear enrichment facilities on the list

With all due respect, it would appear you know close to nothing about Iran.

FYI; the history you are pointing at is being taken away from the people of Iran. They are not allowed to research their own history. Poems from a few hundred years ago are ILLEGAL in Iran and if you had any clue about how important Persia was for the literary world and languages worldwide you would not understand why they are illegal. I can tell you why though; religious indoctrination. But even that is failing as scores of people inside Iran are facing the difference between the religion they love and the reality it offers.

So...what do you REALLY know about Iran? Or its people?

You accuse Iran of funding these organizations, yet you forget that your government (USA) funds the greatest threat to world peace (Israel).

European Poll: Israel Biggest Threat To World Peace

Yet Israel has nuclear facilities and weapons that they refuse let inspectors see.

Muslim nations demand Israel open its nuke program to IAEA viewing

Do you not see what's going on yet?

I think it's quite clear. Yet you sit here and portray Iran as some demonic entity who fuels it's blood lust by eating innocent Israeli children by night.

Give it up don't really.

Don't make me remind you about all the Jews living happily in Iran again.

Do you really want me to do that again?

Happy New Years dontreally how have you been friend

The nations don't take resources,

The corporations do.

The localities rarely see any returns.

Where did you think our money went !

Like they say....

"Many happy returns"

Does Canada (their leadership) ever think for themselves, or do they just sort of follow America's lead, to whatever end?

"Iran must be stopped from getting Nuclear bomb" = Weapons of Mass Destruction/Axis of Evil in Iraq ver. 2.0. The sad part is that so many people have already forgotten how we were deceived into war then, and possibly now again.

First, I'm Canadian. Second, that is absurd to call Israel the greatest threat to world peace. It is an insult to everyone's intelligence, and an insult the democracy you supposedly espouse.

Most of the 'liberals' who support Israel's enemies also, not surprisingly, support the destruction of the current western governmental paradigm, to be replaced by some european marxist socialist model, as Newt Gingrich (despite his demagoguery) is right to point out is what Obama and Hillary (both students of the late saul alinsky) are both in the process of doing right now.

Please explain to me how Israel - a democratic nation - is a threat, and not Iran - a non democratic, and theocratic nation, isn't.

European Poll: Israel Biggest Threat To World Peace

Oh!
a European poll! Ooh laa laa....I just finished saying that the marxist socialist model the democrats are seeking is being adopted from current european examples.

Amongst these same Israel haters, are people who equally hate Jews. Coincidence?

The European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) (superseded in 2007 by the Fundamental Rights Agency) noted an upswing in antisemitic incidents in France, Germany, Austria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and The Netherlands between July 2003 and December 2004.[38]

In 2009, the U.K. saw 374 manifestations of violence against Jews compared to 112 in 2008, according to the Stephen Roth Institute for the study of Contemporary Antisemitism and Racism. France was a distant second, with 195 violent attacks compared to 50.

The total number of anti-Semitic incidents - as they are defined by the institute - was a record number of 1,129 in 2009, compared to 559 in 2008. The institute recorded 566 incidents of vandalism targeting Jewish property worldwide in 2009, constituting 49 percent of all incidents.

Dina Porat, who heads the institution, told reporters at a press conference on Sunday that Anti-Semitism is directly linked to anti-Zionism.

Link

Now, I'm going to receive a reply, I know it, that Jews are behind antisemitism because there was 1 recorded case of a Jewish girl (and a retard) planting evidence of antisemitism.

Apparently, these people would like to convince the rest of us that the exception is the rule - that all antisemitism, the most ancient and persistent prejudice the world knows, is generated by Jews.

There is nothing more morally disgusting then blaming the victim for the crime of the perpetrator.

Yet Israel has nuclear facilities and weapons that they refuse let inspectors see.

And they've had them for over 30 years, without ever once even threatening to use it.

Israel can have nuclear bombs because they can be trusted with them - and trusted because their cultural paradigm is democratic, and not Islamic fundamentalist. Is this not hard to understand?

Iran as some demonic entity who fuels it's blood lust by eating innocent Israeli children by night.

No, but they allow movies like this to be made:

Is this a society that cultivates democratic values? Of course not, when they're making movies which cast an orthodox Rabbi as a raging psychopath - meant to symbolize the state of Israel - and have him telling his grandchild that the Jews can kill gentiles, and that they ultimately intend to take over the world..

The virulence of this propaganda is tantamount to what the Nazi's created with 'the eternal Jew'. Let's hope the parallels stop at movies.

I never said that, who's the r-tard you speak of though?

LOL don't stray me off topic please.

I remember in a previous discussion we mentioned our different views on definitions of things and how IMO your views are strong in their beliefs but limited in room to compromise where I am not as adamant about certain things yet leave room for other views.

I think your labeling of theocracy and democracy is loosely used without taking each example into proper context. Sure you use big fancy words and stuff, but it doesn't make it more believable.

Would you support a Canadian strike on Iran?

I say let Israel solve its own problems.....they don't shed one drop of blood for our wars or give us any financial aid......why are American lives chained to the defense of Israel ......We have bigger fish to fry right here at home.....it is insane to think that if Israel falls the free world as we know it will become a waste land.....anyone arguing the absolute commitment to KILL our soldiers for THEIR country is insane.....Israel is just another foreign country......NOT an American state.,.....they should be better neighbors.....or at least negotiate from a point of reason not one of immunity because of US support......LET US RID OURSELVES of THEIR wars.....

I love the Jewish people and the Jewish religion as it is that both are a rich in culture and history.....I do not LOVE a foreign country that only leaches of my taxes my military and my well being....let them solve their own problems.....or act like they care about American lives at the negotiation table

Does anyone wan't to know what is relly being talked about in Iran?

Iranian ledership is in a state of panic that they allowed themselves to be backed into a corner with their threats...with most of the responsible intelligent leadership screaming....YOU THREATEND THE U.S. WITH CLOSING THE STRAIGHT!? There is no coming back from this threat.

The current Moron who is the Leader of Iran although in reality he is a puppet of the old Religious guard....basiclly threatened to stop the largest supply of oil in the world...shipped through the straight.

These kinds of statements...although many American analists declare them as suicide for Iran and just posturing....still has the u.S. Military in fulll planning implementation just in case.

Iran could easily just let in Nuke inspectors and tone down the rhetoric as well as stop supplying shaped charges to insurgent and Taliban groups....but Iran has become arrogant without the means to back up it's words...and the U.S. has gone to war over smaller issues than these. Split Infinity

Iran is NO threat to you or I. Double standards dont you think.

That's because we live in America.

Iran IS a threat, however, to Israel. Iran is the country funding Israels enemies, Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as contributing significant funds to Syria and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

It's leader hopes to see Israel "vanish from the pages of time", and within Iran itself, antisemitic propaganda, as in the recent movie "sabbath hunter" has increased.

And, America who (over)funds Israel, who refuse to stop demolishing houses in Palestine, who don't need to wipe Palestine from the map because they don't recognize the existence of a Palestinian state, and who actually HAVE nuclear weapons?

That makes America to Israel what Iran is to Syria. Except America are a real and direct threat to most of the world. So, Let's get rid of the lot shall we?

Talk about double standards.
