Can anyone find other sources for this report?

www.dailymail.co.uk...

TextThe state-run news agency also said British and American jets had entered Iranian airspace several times. Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk...

Is this the Trigger??

Apparently US Missiles have hit an Iranian Village!

I see where it says they are no longer accepting comments, but where are you seeing an article date of 2003? I believe you actually. Because this would be talked about a lot more right now, if it were recent. I just am not seeing it.

In fact I am looking on google for older articles about it. But all I am seeing is recent posts. Within the last day....But, I see many people making the same claim that it is from 2003.

I'm confused.

Everyone is siting the dailymail as their source.... So, it very well could be false or just an old article that some one is trying to spread around for some reason or another.

The Top states 22nd Dec '11

I did see that at the bottom and wasn't sure of what to make of it.

Are you able to confirm the 2003 entry?

I found couple of sources stating 5 days ago that this happened. And both sources no longer exist??

I googled this and it seems other sites are reporting the same
thing but not MSM. I can't find a date of 2003 to confirm it was
then or now.

Found this - nothing mentioned in what is claimed to be the source - but has it happened after this paper went to print.

Confusing!

The article mentions the missile strike at an oil depot in Abadan, which occurred in March of 2003.
This isn't the first time this has happened. Dailymail articles seem to have a habit of being mistaken for current news items.

Perhaps taken down because it's not true - keep searching folks.

Posted at this site but they too are questioning the date.

Nevermind I see they picked it up from the Dailymail.

Why would they post this with todays date, are they
known for doing this. How reliable is the
Dailymail?

The article cites IRNA but their website doesn't mention the story.
I'm a bit sceptical as to the timeliness of this story as well.

Good find -

Has it happened again?

Or the Mail isn't taking any further comments because it now knows it's a cock up?

The Dailymail isn't taking any comments because the story is almost 9 years old.

About as reliable as most of them - which means not very - but a popular UK Newspaper.

Are they testing reaction - God Knows?

Well, there you have it. Yeah, I was seeing lots of claims on lots of sites that it was from 2003 but was unable to find anything physically linking it back to 2003.

That ends my confusion....

Another great job by the daily mail.....

Anyway, that answers the OP's question. No this is not the trigger for anything. Which I find to be a great relief.

Cut and paste the headline of the article into the search box in the upper right and see what comes up:

US missiles 'hit Iranian village'
22/03/2003 09:20:07
Two American missiles struck a village in south-west Iran early today.

Why does anyone source the Daily Fail?

It's a trash mag, unreliable, right-wing, ignorant, mindless rag that I wouldn't use to wipe my butt! And people seriously check their site to know what's happening in the world?

It's almost as bad as quoting Onion for factual current events.
