All my local news channels here in MN have been running the Leno clip followed by a statement from Michele declaring her love for all americans. I think this clip will also make the rounds on the msm next week. I think it may even get Paul more support, as the public perception of Bachmann, both local and global, is that of a religious nutjob.

Look up his record, he has no problem voting against Republican efforts.

Do you know anything about him?

True or not majority of the mainstream Republican's and Dem's dont like Ron Paul and think he is a bit looney. He has some Independents but is extremely weak in Major states like Florida, South Carolina etc...where he would need electoral college votes...

Its sad to say but I dont believe he has any chance, you all that are FAINTING at his speeches need to separate your emotion from logic and look at how he would really fare in an open Presidential election.

I am worried about wasting my vote...

Voting for anyone but Paul is wasting your vote.. so unless you plan on doing that I wouldn't worry too much.

What do you think will be the real world differences between an Obama admin and Romney admin?

Now either of those v.s. a Paul admin.

sad to hear you fully admit that the majority of dems and repugs are EXACTLY the same and then appeal to some weird sense of logic as a means to decide how to vote.
I personally feel your vote is allready wasted.

The only Republican I could possibly vote for is Ron Paul I cannot stand the rest of the candidates. The problem is Ron Paul's isolationist views. The biggest problem he faces is his stance with Iran. I cannot in good faith vote for a man that would knowingly allow them to obtain a nuclear weapon.

I am glad he is willing to use diplomacy first and even stress diplomacy, I think that's great. For myself though I need to know he is willing to use force if necessary. I didn't hear him say that in the debate. He never answered that question with a straight answer.

I don't really care what Bachmann's views are because they don't matter she is not going to be the nominee. I wouldn't vote for her if she was. The real issue is how he answered that question and it wasn't the response I wanted to hear or needed to hear.

Ron Paul is a long shot for getting the nominee in the first place and answers like he gave are not helping. I will be watching and listening to what he has to say and the coming months I hope he can give a clear message on the subject soon. For me though if the message is that he will do nothing to stop their nuclear program then he does not have my vote.

MSNBC did a factcheck on the exchange last night between Bachmann and Paul. Paul is correct!

Look, Paul is no wimp--IF the USA were attacked, he'd IMMEDIATELY get that Constitutional Declaration of War from Congress, go in, get it done, come home. These un-Constitutional, undeclared, unnecessary, never-ending wars, designed ONLY to further enrich a few, while simultaneously bankrupting this country, are what he's against! In addition, if he received intelligence that an attack was in the works, he'd take the necessary measures to attempt to avoid being attacked.

Exactly! He never said he was 'Against War' but an "Unjust War"

Are you all insane? Do any of you know anybody from Iran? I know several people and I can tell you from talking with them that if Iran gets a nuclear weapon the radical religious faction will have no problem initiating a war against Israel. They believe their Savior will rise up and lead them to victory over the world.

Yes, I have met and worked with people from Iran. Yes, the theologians there are a bit on the crazy side. But if Iran were to detonate a nuclear missle in someone elses country resulting in a retaliatory strike killing millions on both sides, based on the input I have had from these Iranian ex-pats, no amount of military oppression would stop the tidal wave of anger and rage that would be inflicted upon the Iranian government and supreme council by the people of Iran.

The Ayatollah knows this.. that's why they would do nothing. They are in a one sided M.A.D. situation. They cannot destroy the government of Israel with one bomb and they cannot survive the aftermath of an attack, either. In addition, the fallout would hit Jordan, Iraq, and parts of Iran causing long term collateral damage. And neither China nor Russia would tolerate them launching a nuclear strike for a number of reasons.

So in a nutshell... IF Iran is making a nuclear weapon.. which is definately not certain at all... the act of using it would result in the annihilation of their own country.

You make valid points except the fact we are talking about a religious belief with them. It does not matter what is sensible to you and me they believe God is on there side and through the ashes they will be victorious. Those with that kind of religious view are not thinking about who would turn against them because in their mind it has been foretold. Do you think a suicide bomber is worried about retaliation? I have been all over the world as a civilian and as a soldier. We are not dealing with the nation like Russia. The Cold War was a piece of cake compared to this. This is not a situation where rationality of a mutually assured destruction becomes a deterrent.

What Ron Paul proposes is reminiscent of America's seclusionist era. It sounds great at first but last time we wound up.in a World war. The world cannot afford the possibility of another, it wouldn't survive.

I cannot stand Michelle Bachmann or any of the other candidates but if Ron Paul does not prove to me that he would do what ever is necessary to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of Iran then I cannot vote for him. It is as simple as that.

I guess there's only one way to solve this then.

1) Lets get together with all of the Christian countries and make calls for all Christians to get out of the way.

2) We simply nuke the crap out of Iran eradicating every living soul there.

3) Any other country that decides to step in, we just do the same thing to them.

You keep making these assumptions that you know how they think, but you know nothing. If they actually felt that way, then what's the reason of waiting for a nuke to be created? If their God has their back, then they don't need the nuke right? They'll be delivered regardless.

They have no concern for "collateral" damage. It just makes all their precious "toys" useless.
Even 1 nuc would have made the Iraq debuncle over before it started. You don't have to destroy everything, the EMP pulse would have made all the fancy high tech weaponry useless.
A word to the wise, next time some "leader" spouts the the desire to rid the world of nuclear weapons, ask yourself why ???.
Is to protect "us" or is it to protect their "toys"
Just something to chew on.

Just to let you know 90% of the United States military equipment is shielded from EMP's.

Please... where in the world do you get your "facts" from?

Seriously... leave your "facts" in your own head. We don't need people spreading false information about our equipment. 90% of our equipment is the same equipment purchased by many other countries from the same developers that produce ours. I can tell you right now that a popular company has recently sold a HEAVILY used piece of equipment to another country with MANY additional upgrades that the US DoD version did not have. AND that country purchased it for a cheaper price. Off topic here... but talk about Allegiance to your country!

The winning formula script seems to include bloodthirsty intent to attack Iran. I though the world was a little safer when henious Hainy withdrew. But buckaroo Bachy is equally thirsty for blood.

I was dupped in believing that Obarmy was the saviour of the world. I pray you are the real deal Mr Ron Paul, I hope you are not the great deceiver.

Mr Ron Paul you have my vote if I had one.

Not so fast!
Ron Paul's ability to expand his appeal within the GOP base is none existent. The GOP will discredit the Iowa caucuses because, the Republican establishment thinks he is not going to end up as the nominee.
Besides Iowa Republicans pick Huckabees, not presidents.

Go ahead and keep thinking they have the ability/technology to do that, because you're not even close.

Precisely.

What a lot of these people are failing completely to fathom is that if Iran fired anything at any nation, they would be pounded into oblivion with an hour. They might be a little irrational, but they are not suicidal.

The idea that any nation would fire a Nuke at another nation simply because they don't like them is simply insane, just as this Bachmann woman is.

I love how these lunatics preach about Iran being so violent, and yet they neglect to recognize that Iran has not invaded other countries, has not imprisoned a whole nation, doesn't steal land from their neighbors, has not refused to acknowledge their own Nuclear capabilities, does not openly spy and infiltrate other nations, hasn't committed countless murders abroad and used illegal practices.

I'm not for one moment suggesting that Iran is a nice regime, far from it. But it's insanely disgusting for Bachmann to be talking like this while ignoring the actions of her own nation, and Israel, and most of Europe all around the world.

Actions speak louder than words, and the USA, Israel and UK have acted to attack several nations while Iran has simply sat there seething with rage.

this is one of the best posts i've read in a while.

So I'm guessing you didn't read the thread on the DoD's reports of Iran not even close to having a nuke and not intending to use it offensively against us?

It's amazing ... AMAZING to me that somehow people keep missing this:

Securing our borders makes us MORE safe.

Stationing our troops overseas in an endless resource war makes us LESS safe.

Even IF this hyperbolic war on terror had a farthing of truth to it ...

We'd be SAFER if our troops home. Our borders are WIDE open at the moment.

How is it that people aren't considering this??????????

I loved Ron Pauls comment

" what did we do with Libya , we talked them out of their nuclear weapon , then we killed them "

Ron your a legend , I would love for him to be president of the US , that means maybe the world would take a chill pill and things would calm down a bit !

I agree with you that Iran wouldn't be suicidal and nuke another nation, but they're not as rosy as you paint them. They have threatened and made statements claiming sovereignty over Bahrain, they do spy, and back groups like Hezbollah and Hamas. While a war would probably be counter-productive and end up a mess, to think that they simply sit there is naive.
