The entire premise of your OP comes down to this sentence, IMHO.

They don't want the government to do its job of protecting out liberties.

That's not the govt job... That's our job, as supposedly involved citizens of this country. Relying on govt. to do anything out of the goodness of their hearts is madness. Why not just do away with our form of govt totally and have hereditary kings and queens?

Gotta wonder, after the last decade of corporate fraud run amuck, that people can ignore that the republicans, voting in block to stop laws to protect consumers from corporate fraud.

At this point, it takes a great deal of ignorance to pretend that there is no difference between the two parties, or that the republicans care whatsoever about the rights of the individual.

It takes a tremendous streach of the imagination to think there is ANY DIFFERENCE between the two parties.
look how much money from wall street Obama allready has in donations to get re-elected.
All from mega corporations and look at all the insider trading from both sides of the aisle and look at MF Global and John Corzine and the fraud by him and the media to cover it over.
The problem is simply this.
The two options, demorats or repugs are 2 sides to the same coin and all this is is an exercize in the Hegelian Dialectic seeking to divide and conquor.
This isn't a demmy or repug problem, it's an American corruption problem. People from the top down and then the bottom up have corrupted themselves and this is the result.
The demorats are not the solution any more than the repugs are the sollution.
The solution will come from accountabilty at the micro level long before you will ever see it at the macro level.
It's all about accountability and now that we have a generation taught that life is one big subjective truth creating a billion different reference points to "whos' truth" it's just to easy to pick a side and point fingers at corruption and then waiting for someone else to be accountable for it.

I see a recess appointment being needed because the GOP have already declared war on not only the United States, but the people as well.

They do not represent you, to them you are cattle who are being led into the slaughter as it's easier to be a Republican because it's easier then thinking.

The Republicans are helping the Democrats destroy our country due to their cowardice.
We need real conservatives who are not afraid of the liberal communists liars and thieves.
A real bunch of Republicans who will lead the way to investigate and prosecute the crimes committed by Hillary Clinton,Eric Holder,Barry Obama,Barney Frank,Henry Reid,Timothy Geitner,Nancy Pelosi,Chris Dodd and the whole slew of other bunch of worthless incompetent treasonous Democ-rats.
They need to dismiss Elena Kagen for her support of the Health care bill and the fact she committed pergury to get her position on the Supreme court.
They put weak and conniving people in positions where they are totally inadequate to do the task such as Janet Napolitano and Leon Panetta, two very inept people who are incapable of doing a job to protect the citizens of the U.S.A.
Unfortunately the "Republican" party is a spineless, quivering pup beaten into submission by loud mouth crooks who call themselves Democrats but in reality they are no different than the Mafioso.
And so yes the Republicans who are more liberal yet fly under the R, are killing us slowly with their lack of checks and balance to the leftist thugs who have all but wrecked our country.

The REAL problem is this; republicans could NEVER have furthered their agenda without the help of democrats who sold out to the same agenda. We have 3 co equal branches of government to counter exactly that, so if one branch gets too extreme, the others can oppose the extremism and bring some semblance of balance. What we have had for the past 30 years, is republicans who steamroll over democrats who are either pacifists or complicit in what the republicans want to achieve. We DONT have a two party system, we have a ONE party system that has one agenda. IMHO, if one party is out of control, you dont blame that party, you blame the OPPOSITION for not effectively countering them. Thats what is supposed to happen, but is no longer happening, becuase both parties are owned by the same lobbyists. Republicans are just representing their constituents. Democrats claim to represent the middle and working classes but after the election, sell out their interests almost every time. The ONLY way out of this is the creation of a third party that is voted in in a landslide, and starts to remove the imposters who dont represent the people.

It is yes, but when an even larger entity is threatening the very freedoms that are guaranteed to us Govt needs to be both the broadsword and the big and bad animal that keeps these entities living in fear as that is one of the things that we empower Govt with the ability to do. To help keep the playing field leveled and fair for all.

Undo this and there'd be nothing stopping them! That would bring rise to The Corporate States Of America!

Hmmm....the Democratic Controlled Senate just passed a Bill to Incarcerate the US Citizen Indefinitely without Trial, Legal Representation, without notification to next of kin and the possibility of just disappearing. Then we have the Fema Camps which is just a nice term for Prison Camps. And when Obama had a Democratically controlled Congress how many jobs did he bring back from overseas to the US?

I don't even know why I'm responding to the OP's regurgitated drivel.

After spending a good part of my Sunday morning reading "all" I am still quite content that nothing will change in the near future. We need to wait until the signed pledge "no more tax increases" expires, or at least the head guru releases all from their promise.
Everything that needs to be done will cost money. The money only comes from one collective source. "us all".
Those who spend "our money" were put there by "us all".
I hope there is enough in there when all is said and done, to keep Chesapeake dredged, so the war ships can get out to sea.

The party system has to go.

The reason we are where we are is because unfortunately we live in a Democracy where people like you who are brainwashed by the liberal system of socialism to think you'll get whatever you ask for provided to you by a corrupt government who takes money by heaping tax upon taxes and levies regulations and restrictions on my freedom. But you're so gullible you don't understand those empty promises will dry up and eventually lead to a dictatorial 3rd wold style country. You've proven your ignorance in your hopes government will solve all your problems, when in reality they'll make things worse. If you think I'm lying just pick up a history book and put down your playstation controller. History is filled with examples of what happens to a nation with an overreaching government.

Those like yourself who continually play into the con known as The "Left-v-Right" paradigm need to be told what to think, how to think, how to respond and can't think for yourselves without saying or reiterated daily GOP talking points memo! It is no longer about the jackasses and the pachyderms but is now about The USA above all else.

Until you bring forth one original thought or composition I'll consider taking you seriously but since you will do whatever you are told and not dare question a thing means you've already forfeited your right to complain about a thing as complacency is no excuse for not wanting to learn.

It is you who is gullible, not I as I do not need nor require Fox, CNN, MSNBC or Current TV to tell me what to think or how to think.

I am far more illuminated then most and am the furthest thing from gullible, my IQ of 175 means I am far smarter then you which means for you to continually challenge me is a waste of yours and my time. Go back to watching the NFL as you clearly are not competent nor mature enough to see things for how they truly are.

Our Congress is bought and paid which means we've been a defacto dictatorship at the rule of corporations and banks. Our democracy is not for sale to the highest bidder!

Smaller Govt that your GOP is touting is clearly not an option and is a non starter of any negotiation, trust this as I have actually done negotiation work on behalf of Govt and debated the Constitution with many people in a position of power and most of them agree with me fully.

Before you hit the reply button to dare challenge me ask yourself this, "Who is the group who is destroying this nation?" and "Who owns our Congress?"! The SCUM is answer 1 and the SCUM is answer 2!

Your Fuerer said it best in 05, "Either you are with us (The USA) or you are with the terrorists!".

Here we go again with the polarization of Republicans vs Democrats. I think we should look at them as simply politicians, because once in office, do their platforms really differ that much? I mean, you have 7 of 8 Republicans (all but Paul) in this GOP race looking to invade Iran...is there anything conservative about that?

And remember, it was Obama, a democrat, in power in 2008/2009 when the USA citizens were pillaged and over 7 trillion dollars was issued by the Fed. for bailouts to these 'too big to fail banks.'

Gingrich is not the best Republican running, where do you get your news from. How about the ideologically consistent 12 term congressman Ron Paul??

Your argument for left vs right is asinine.

The date that TARP went online was October 10, 2008 when 43 was in the WH. Interesting how a GOP ordered the bailouts but for some moronic excuse it's seemingly to be blames on Obama.

The bailout was bipartisan in both the House and the Senate, and in fact Democrats supported it moreso than Republicans. Although Bush initially got the ball rolling, it was Obama who continued it once he stepped into office.

Obama did not continue it because he ordered it ended October 2010 so he did not in fact continue it as his involvement was limited to making sure that any previously earmarked funds had been issued to their respective entities!

en.wikipedia.org...

Geithner wanted to extend it to Oct 2011 but Obama told him no!

You're not intelligent and you're not right either.
You're a loudmouth keyboard cowboy and that's it. Some might call you a troll. You have no idea what you're rambling about do you? But that won't stop your braggadocious ravings, will it?
Just because MSNBC told you the Right wing is out to destroy the country you fell for it. You are totally afraid of a legitimate debate with me. You can't stand on facts so you try to push me around with you "oh so high IQ" which clearly you do NOT possess. In the end you are a prime example of why Democracy fails. You're the weakest link in the chain and people such as yourself have paved the way of our downfall with your election of a real "Fuhrer"(can't even get that spelled correctly can you?). 174 IQ my @ss.

I've seen the underbelly of The SCUM and base every stance on those hundereds of hours of meetings over things you will never know about.

A simple toy car hobby led me to this vast information!

I am a former insider. That is where my information comes from and not biased tv news. I've bore witness to things that will make you cry and rock your world. Notice how the Baggers were against corruption and the banks and now how they are being bankrolled by the very entity that they were originally against.

Quick to issue attacks further reiterates and confirms what I am saying since you have yet to bring forth one solution other then to issue cheap lame arse character assassinations instead of offering or bring forth one solution further proves my point.
