Is it time to re-try this experiment? With the political/class divide in the U.S. it seems that the US government is in a stalemate. Maybe the idea of the runner-up as Vice-President was before it’s time. Granted, this can still work both ways. Partisan politics, like opinions, have always been like a Derriere….everyone has one. But as long as both individuals respect (they don’t have to like), each other, and agree that they both work for the Nation than maybe; just maybe, we can hitch up our britches and put this Country back on track.

PRESIDENT / Vice-PRESIDENT / PARTY

1801-1809 Thomas Jefferson: Aaron Burr & George Clinton, Democratic-Republican

1809-1817 James Madison: George Clinton & Elbridge Gerry, Democratic-Republican

1817-1825 James Monroe: Daniel D Tompkins, Democratic-Republican

1825-1829 John Quincy Adams: John C Calhoun, Democratic-Republican

Let's say Ron Paul was elected.

Can you imagine if Ron Paul was elected President and Barack Obama was relegated to Veep? Or visa-versa?

That would be interesting, would it not?

This idea would work wonderfully!

This way Republicans and Democrats can stop pretending to be oppositional rivals.

If you guys haven't figured it out yet, THERE IS NO 2 PARTY SYSTEM!!! Both parties have been fully infiltrated by globalists working towards eliminating the Constitution of the United States and securing the One World Government. The 2 party system is a scam and illusion.

Most of us have figured it out. But regardless of the two party system....their are still two camps of thought on how things should be worked out.

And within that...lies division.

The way everything is partisan I'd expect to see a lot of 'accidents' or 'food poisonings' or 'oops, he slipped on the steps and broke his neck' type things happening to both the POTUS and VPOTUS. Each of the parties have a lot of $$ tied up in their own party. This idea couldn't work nowadays.

I thought of those scenarios as well. But upon reflection, maybe a law putting into place a that the other party will always hold a position opposite of the POTUS would possibly put a hold on those types of actions.

Then again...maybe that is what we need. It would keep new blood flowing, wouldn't it?

Hello there.
What you said may have been true at some point, but the way things are working out, Republicans and Democrats are working towards the same agenda. The only difference is the words that come out of their mouths, but their actions and policies are identical.

George W. Bush(R), John Kerry(D), John McCain(R), and Barak Obama(D)... these are top 2-party picks recently given to us by the propaganda machine. There are NO differences between their foreign polices, war, or attack on Constitutional Rights.

When we are talking about Republican and Democrat citizens and average Americans... yes, there are difference of opinion and ideology. But the top politicians thrust into our minds by the propaganda machine.... they are all the same.

nope....won't fix a thing....they are both bought and sold by the same bankers etc. the 2-party system is bogus.....it is just their attempt at making "We the People" feel like we have a say....we don't....it's rigged....two sides of the same coin...the only way to fix this..(short of a revolution) is a viable 3rd party.....the ONLY peaceful way....

If there is a democrat that could be considered as Ron Paul's VP, I'd say it would be Dennis Kucinich, they worked together on Audit the FED. Kucinich is stern on spending.

Alan Grayson is another principled democrat that supported the Audit the FED bill is another I'd like to see included in Paul's theoretical cabinet.
