Alot of the media is run by the unions. Thats the cool thing about FOX they bash the hell out of Unions. Not enough though, they should do it more.

I dont care if you engage me or add me as a respected foe. Thats cool. But to list a comedy show featuring John Stewart as a source and then require me to watch is not cool and I will not do.

What is the difference between FOX news and comedy central?
I would love to be convinced one is more credible than the other.
Are you up for it?

One leans left, the other leans right. Watch them both if you want too! Do your own fact checking, then form your own conclusions. Just don't limit yourself to one or the other.

See ya,

In the uk there is obviously the BBC and ITV News, there is also Sky News (Murdoch owned but with a decent reputation) and from overseas you can watch CNN, MSNBC, CCTV, Al Jazeera and Fox News on digital platforms (there are a few others but I'm doing this from memory) so you do get a broad spectrum of viewpoints.

For me CNN and the BBC are at the top of the list and Fox at the very bottom, unless I want a laugh. During Saddams downfall I flicked between Channels and Fox, that day, was woefully bad.

Critics of the BBC would do well to remember a couple of points.

It is not in the pay of any corporation for "sponsorship" etc, and so it has no reason not to be balanced and truthful. This it always aims to be, but of course mistakes happen. The BBC is the only news provider I know of that has a weekly programme dedicated to HOW the news is presented, explaining the standpoint of the producers etc, and correcting and apologising for any mistakes made that week and even featuring senior News staff being grilled about why certain choices were made over others. Does anyone else do this?

it is always being attacked for being anti-government AND simultaneously anti-opposition and this applies whichever party is in power at the time, so they must be getting something right in terms of general balance.

The BBC is constantly being attacked by the Murdoch owned media as it spoils their ambition to have total control of the media in the UK and is, even now, subject to a licence fee "freeze" for the next few years that, to me, is indicative of the influence that Murdoch lackeys like Coulson have held in the UK Government.

There seems to be a popular trend of attacking the BBC, but, we would miss it terribly if it was ever dismantled. You don't know what you've got till its gone.

Don't know if its already been posted, but a recent survey revealed that people who watch fox news, know less about the world around them then those who watch no news at all.

FOX,CNN,ABC,NBC,CBS,they are all rowing the same boat. Some are rowing on the right side of the boat and others are rowing on the left side of the boat, either way the boat goes straight down the middle, enough to keep the people divided, and not united which is what TPTB want from there news people. So it is working, just read this forum.

Hope that helps

it is conservative no doubt about it.

I get a magazine to my house called The American Conservative. - By their standards, or any good conservative's standards, Fox is not actually that conservative. Fox is the weird new age corporatism of the republican party, kinda like the corporate democratic party.

The magazine I get regularly promotes small government, for example they have articles about ending the war on drugs and also often against foreign wars. The latest edition has a cover-story about the evils of Monsanto.

Not everything said on fox is wrong or evil, but it is just a poor news source (like CNN and the rest) and often misrepresents actual conservatives.

i like fox news ! cause if i didn't i'd have to just sit around and hear conspiracy theories grounded in myth all day rather than news backed by sources and research

Then why did you say what I just responded to at all?

I dont care if you engage me or add me as a respected foe. Thats cool. But to list a comedy show featuring John Stewart as a source and then require me to watch is not cool and I will not do.

Do I need to ask again?

Hi Beezzer,
Let me google that for you....

Google kicked back "About 1,270,000 results" for the cut and pasted phrase "survey revealed that people who watch fox news, know less about the world around them then those who watch no news at all."

Google search results

Never heard about those "Surveys" myself, maybe some are biased... but then again it's not like FOX's poll number percentage results always add up to 100 .

All these people say Fox is not fair and balanced, well it does balance out and counter the BS being spewed on the other news stations. Keith O, Chris Matthews balanced

How about that guy who looks like Sean Hannity, what's his name, Rachel Maddows. I actually haven't watched many of these programs lately, just my local news.
