It might not be fair and balanced, it is conservative no doubt about it. But it is a news source and like any news source it has it's flaws.

Now for those who hate it so much, why not give it a chance? If not for the obvious reason that you don't agree. Then thats no reason not to give it a chance. If you are really serious about doing all your research then FOX is a network you should at least watch from time to time. I turned to it because I got sick of doom and gloom stories that went on and on and were depressing like told for hours on end on CNN.

Look. It's simple, if you are sick and tired of hearing the same thing over and over again flip the switch. I do it often.

Also Glenn Beck is the only thing wrong with FOX News cause he's not there anymore.

Because this is an organization that my right-wing relatives who actually believe all that stuff about Sharia Law coming to the U.S. watch.

It's an organization that my father, a man who swore up and down that Harry Potter was Satanic for years, loves.

That alone is enough to keep me far, far away from watching Fox. Any news station that folks like that love is going to arouse a deep suspicion in me.

I gave Rush Limbaugh "a chance", and I wanted to shoot myself after five minutes. I don't want another episode of that.

Yeah... about that. I used to watch it, but after I became an ATS member and started reading/getting info from alternative news sources, I've really done a 180 on Fox News. Then, I started talking to the people that watch it religiously, and a good number of them have been wholly ignorant and unwelcome to discussion. I like arguing with people, not with robots however. According to one avid Fox News watcher, "Obama is Muslim, and that's not right, only Christians should be president. We need a businessman with little political experience in office, like Herman Cain. We should nuke the whole Middle East. Christianity is the best religion because Jesus claimed to be the son of God, while Muslims worship the prophet Mohamed, and Buddhists worship Buddha who was also only a man."

That was only one Fox News watcher, so he in no way speaks for them all.

If the only world you lived in was ATS-Land, you would get the impression that Fox News was such a joke that nobody takes it seriously, or uses it as a source of information.

In reality, however, it consistently gets ratings that are better than CNN and MSNBC combined. They must be doing something right - and they certainly appeal to a very broad audience.

Personally, I enjoy watching the channel when I get a chance...and find that while the channel itself is not necessarily as "fair and balanced" as their promos would have us believe, their many right-wing leaning commentators do help provide a better overall balance within the MSM, assuming you do a bit of surfing among the news channels.

i watch fox news multiple times a week. it's bs. they straight out lie sometimes. im the most conservative person i know and i think fox news is a load of bs. not that ne other mass media is any better.

Too add, don't trust any of the MSM, Fox is not the only one that misleads, they all do. They are all as bad as each other. None of them are about to rock the boat and not support the status quo, their motivation is profit not truth.

How in the world is Fox News related to your father's opinions of what a fictional character's true nature is? Should we steer away from everything that your Dad likes...maybe ice cream on a hot day, puppy dogs, or baseball double headers (assuming he likes these things of course)?

Come on, really? You're really scraping the bottom of the bin with this one. Even if by some chance he wasn't born in the U.S., he's lived here his life, and in my book, that makes you American enough. Cause guess what, I'd like to be President someday, but I cant. Even though I've live here my whole life, and my father was a Marine, I was born in Burma. No matter what I do (besides fake my certificates) I can't be President, even if I receive the Medal of Honor. Even if I had super powers and singlehandedly saved the Earth from an asteroid, I still couldn't be President.

I don't like Obama, but saying he's not American and inferior gets into murky water.

Well, then, I apologize to my fellow UK ATSers who now cannot drink and the women must wear a burqa. I didn't realize that things were so bad over there that the extremist Muslims had actually overthrown UK common law like my uncle and aunt believe is going to happen over here.
