For those of you who wish you knew more about what happened at the Tower of Babel and how all the diverse races could possibly spring up from one original group, I bring to your attention this piece out of the book of Jasher that gives more information about it.

The Bible refers to this book, yet it is not found in it, because a council of men decided that some books would not be included in the official approved edition for some reason, maybe because they were deemed esoteric or not for the riffe-raffe to know.

Book of Jasher
Chapter 9
www.ccel.org...

Line 26

And all these people and all the families divided themselves in three parts; the first said We will ascend into heaven and fight against him; the second said, We will ascend to heaven and place our own gods there and serve them; and the third part said, We will ascend to heaven and smite him with bows and spears; and God knew all their works and all their evil thoughts, and he saw the city and the tower which they were building

In Line 35

And the Lord smote the three divisions that were there, and he punished them according to their works and designs; those who said, We will ascend to heaven and serve our gods, became like apes and elephants; and those who said, We will smite the heaven with arrows, the Lord killed them, one man through the hand of his neighbor; and the third division of those who said, We will ascend to heaven and fight against him, the Lord scattered them throughout the earth.

Makes sense to me if the text is true, not refuting it for I have no evidence and take this on faith at the moment. Something I was unaware of but will study it in the near future.
As for this being labelled racist, it shouldn't be. it explains how humans were scattered to the fringes of the earth seperated.

Hair as white as wool?

Also, in this piece of Fragment of a book of Noah, Lamech comments that his son Noah does not look like his parents. The boy has much lighter skin, hair and eyes to the degree that he wonders if this child is actually spawned by angels. But his grandfather Enoch who was given visions of the future foresaw that God had chosen to do something different with Noah and that he is indeed son of Lamech. - something like that.

Fragment of the book of Noah

1. And after some days my son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech, and she became
pregnant by him and bore a son.2. And his body was white as snow and red as the blooming of a rose, and the hair of his head †and his long locks were white as wool, and his eyes beautiful†. And when he opened his eyes, he lighted up the whole house like the sun, and the whole house was very bright. 3. And thereupon he arose in the hands of the midwife, opened his mouth, and †conversed with† the Lord of righteousness. 4. And his father Lamech was afraid of him and fled, and came to his father Methuselah. 5. And he said unto him: 'I have begotten a strange son, diverse from and unlike man, and resembling the sons of the God of heaven; and his nature is different and he is not like us, and his eyes are as the rays of the sun, and his countenance is glorious. 6. And it seems to me that he is not sprung from me but from the angels, and I fear that in his days a wonder may be wrought on the earth. 7. And now, my father, I am here to petition thee and implore thee that thou mayest go to Enoch, our father, and learn from him the truth, for his dwelling-place is amongst the angels.'8. And when Methuselah heard the words of his son, he came to me to the ends of the earth; for he had heard that I was there, and he cried aloud, and I heard his voice and I came to him. And 1 said unto him: 'Behold, here am I, my son, wherefore hast thou come to me?' 9. And he answered and said: 'Because of a great cause of anxiety have I come to thee, and because of a disturbing vision have I approached. 10. And now, my father, hear me: unto Lamech my son there hath been born a son, the like of whom there is none, and his nature is not like man's nature, and the colour of his body is whiter than snow and redder than the bloom of a rose, and the hair of his head is whiter than white wool, and his eyes are like the rays of the sun, and he opened his eyes and thereupon lighted up the whole house. 11. And he arose in the hands of the midwife, and opened his mouth and blessed the Lord of heaven. 12. And his father Lamech

became afraid and fled to me, and did not believe that he was sprung from him, but that he was in the likeness of the angels of heaven; and behold I have come to thee that thou mayest make known to me the truth.' 13. And I, Enoch, answered and said unto him: 'The Lord will do a new thing on the earth, and this I have already seen in a vision, and make known to thee that in the generation of my father Jared some of the angels of heaven transgressed the word of the Lord. 14. And behold they commit sin and transgress the law, and have united themselves with women and commit sin with them, and have married some of them, and have begot children by them. 17. And they shall produce on the earth giants not according to the spirit, but according to the flesh, and there shall be a great punishment on the earth, and the earth shall be cleansed from all impurity.15. Yea, there shall come a great destruction over the whole earth, and there shall be a deluge and a great destruction for one year. 16. And this son who has been born unto you shall be left on the earth, and his three children shall be saved with him: when all mankind that are on the earth shall die (he and his sons shall be saved). 18. And now make known to thy son Lamech that he who has been born is in truth his son, and call his name Noah; for he shall be left to you, and he and his sons shall be saved from the destruction, which shall come upon the earth on account of all the sin and all the unrighteousness, which shall be consummated on the earth in his days. 19. And after that there shall be still more unrighteousness than that which was first consummated on the earth; for I know the mysteries of the holy ones; for He, the Lord, has showed me and informed me, and I have read (them) in the heavenly tablets.

I think apes is a wrong translation. It should be asses as in donkeys. Along with the elephants this is where God created the 2 party system.... He should have just destroyed them.

Really though I am aware of 3 "book of Jasher's" 1 a later work of same title, one an obvious fraud, and then the "real one" and even that is a little fishy. I will have to find my copy later but I don't recall seeing that account of the tower, could have just missed it. Interested to know which version of the book you are quoting.

The Book of Jasher is referred to in Joshua 10:13 and Second Samuel 1:18

I have a copy of the Book of Jasher, I have read it, and after finding places where it simply contradicts what the Bible says happened, I have decided that it is not reliable. I used to be quite the Jasher enthusiast. The differences make me wonder if even the places where they agree, and Jasher adds some cool details, can be trusted. For those who think it was rejected along with other old documents, remember that it only came to light in fairly modern times, and in only one (1) manuscript copy. The Bible has a much deeper, much wider, much more solid foundation.

Yes i know where it is referenced, but there are at least 3 titles claiming to be the book of Jasher. Which are you quoting? You know copyright, publisher all that. Or are you just quoting an internet source claiming authentic Jasher?

This is the Book of Jasher that I'm referring to.

You mention there are other ones that claim to be Jasher, but this is the only one I've read.

www.sacred-texts.com...

This particular one is a translation of a Hebrew book printed in 1613. Sepir Ha Yasher, the Hebrew title of this book, means the 'Book of the Upright', or 'the Upright or Correct Record'. This title was misread as 'Jasher', and at some point Jasher was treated as a proper name; however the pronoun 'the' (hebrew 'ha') never preceeds proper names.

Ok I know which that is. Although I always thought that particular one was translated into english in the 1800's no matter though. I think the Important thing to see here is that it does not say that they gained the appearance of apes or elephants, it says "became as" which to me suggests actions not appearance.
