I have been following the weather very closely ever since I was in a F-5 tornado, and I have seen countless radar images. I have never seen this before. Sorry I don't know how to post the radar loop so here's the link
radar.weather.gov...

Can anyone explain these objects to me? and don't tell me planes, not possible!!!

Which objects, please elaborate.

It's difficult to determine what you are talking about without any hints or indications.

I'm pretty sure they are clouds?

There aliens, what can we say. Yuh, what objects are you even looking at?

if your referring to the round, spreading areas...that's just ground clutter. the other moving things are storms.

That's odd.

I checked your link, and noticed what appeared to be several streaks going across the radar - maybe meteors or some such.

The odd part is that since signing in and checking the link again, that particular loop is no longer playing.

Anyone else see the link before the change other than the OP?

Do you not see the streaking objects converge over the state? They are flying NE to SW.
Can someone please post the radar loop now, will lose the objects with time passage. Thanks!!!

CRAP, it's gone now. Does anyone know how to retrive the old loop? I know there's a way, but I can't even remember.
Thanks.

No worries, I've seen people post about this type of thing before and more often than not (if I recall correctly) it is either atmospheric interference or meteors.

Keep an eye out, grab a recording program and next time it happens grab a few seconds of video to show the rest of the forum for further examination.

I recommend HyperCam, it's free and easy to use - the files can get large quickly though, so be warned.

I checked out your link, and did see 3 or 4 streaks shooting across and over the west coast. No idea what they could have been, possibly meteors?
sorry not helping your request at all...but I did see them.

That's exactly what I'm referring to.
Oh my gosh, can someone please record this now, before we lose it.

Water Vapor/other particles floating around. This happens all the time. There are a ton of links to weird radar images.

Thanks for the advise, I'll do that.
These streaks do remind me of meteors, but I think if it is, that's one good size meteor shower. Objects on weather radars have to be pretty low to be picked up right?

0018Totally still current, 3 -5 objects from Ne to Sw along the whole west coast between 0008 utc to 0018 utc. Not too sure how close or far away the objects are so determining size might be difficult

I saw the streaks as well thinking meteors.
They were over Texas and now I see them
on the west coast. I knew the other clouds
were ground clutter. A lot of meteors in
2 locations if that is indeed what it is. Going
to check some sites I go to. Keeping an
eye on this thread.

Weird. For future reference what is a good firefox plug to capture radar loops? Video downloader doesn't seem to like the loops.
