SAN FRANCISCO -- One San Francisco police officer was slashed by a razor and another had his uniform torn and cheek cut in a clash with Occupy San Francisco protesters Saturday afternoon, police said. At around 3:30 p.m., near the Embarcadero and Broadway, police officers attempted to prevent marching demonstrators from blocking the intersection where MUNI light rail tracks were located.

Hmm first feeling is that these people could have been undercover cops trying to stir up trouble.

The officer retrieved his radio and both male demonstrators escaped into the crowd, police said.
Ive never seen cops on their own and I would be suprised if there wasnt upwards of 5 or so cops around him. Every video I've seen since occupy begun has had big groups of cops always looking out for eachother. This seems a little dodgy too me.
Time will tell if they make something big out of it, youll know then if they were planted.

Also I'm sick of everything getting blamed on protesters. Every time something bad has happened it’s been in a big city; which means millions of people. Not all of them are protesters.
These people could have been anyone.

Isn’t it against the law to accuse a group of doing something without evidence? I believe its slander and ruining someone’s image. The media should be sued for associating everything bad with the protesters!

If you think a planted UC is going to slash a fellow officer, you really do not know much about police tactics.

These are the so called "punks" and "crybabies" huh? Sounds like the punks are doing exactly what I thought they would. Adopting intelligent tactics to win the coming war. It sucks that they hurt a police officer, who is only an instrument of our real enemy. Sadly, to get to the real bad guys, many cops will be treated this way, at least until they realize they're on the losing side.

It would be nice to find a better source though.

I was there about noon today and all seemed good. They had their General Assembly which was a few introduction and one of the guys admitted to being a socialist and some of his words are a bit strong. There were two guys and they both had rags over their faces. If anyone has a video of the GA at noon for Nov-12th there are two guys with black neckerchief and black hoodies.

A very dangerous game to say the least.

1.
Cutting anyone with a sharp implement would at the very least be an" assault with a deadly weapon. At worst, Attempted murder.

2.
Police have the fair right to protect themselves against such attacks with deadly force. And that is exactly what this twit should of summarily received. One round to the face from a Glock 22 service pistol.

And do you know if they were provoked in any way by the police first..
Maybe it was self-defense..

But nah, pull a gun and shootem dead is your answer.

It does NOT matter if you are provoked. You can NOT cut people with knives, under any legal or moral theory or tort. It is just that simple.

Anyone who does it deserves the full weight of the law, and in this case, the law is clear and it includes deadly force.

So yes, that is my answer.

Well, hopefully now people will understand why I am an advocate for shooting live rounds at the OWS crowd in certain circumstances...

This is a perfect example... Razor me, I'll shoot back...

P.S. I don't miss...

The crowd may have wanted them to respond stiffly, so that they could start slicing more than just hands. It sounds like a direct attempt to incite a small war, from an intelligent group of people. If he was smart, he wouldn't have went into the crowd to begin with.

LOL

Super intelligent. Face off against the police with xacto knives.

And the police that was slashed was in a line formation, ingress, doing a clearing push to get these smelly sub humans off the railroad tracks. Trying to protect them from themselves.

Super studly and brave to slash a hand at distance, then run like the little chicken you are. Sweet.

Judging by the tone of your posts, this thread is better suited for the rant forum. Is it your intent to report news, or find an outlet to express your hate for the OWS movement?

A group of people that outnumber you ten to one, armed with exacto knives, will chew your forces up and spit them out. I bet that's what the cop that went after his radio thought. They could have killed him easily.

Wait..whaaaaa? You advocate shooting live rounds at unarmed protesters? What certain circumstances would that be? I'll tell you. It should be NONE! If the cops aren't being fired upon or protecting those they swore to protect are being fired on they DO NOT fire! Thank god you're not a cop.

This is a perfect example... Razor me, I'll shoot back...

Can't disagree there but the ones that did the cutting only..not the whole freakin crowd!

Movement? that's a good one. Bowl movement maybe at best. Yeah that's it!!!! The occupy a jail cell movement.

I don't hate your cough,,,movement. I think it is excellent fodder. Cannon fodder.

It allows our finest in uniform to actually do something besides troll for drunks and speeders.

Best thing that ever happened to our paychecks. You sit in your own feces out in the rain, being corn-holed in your tents by perverts, as we rake in double time.

Keep up the good work.

But please do not break the laws of the land, don't cut anyone.

Thank you.

Your xbox has made you punch drunk.

First off, 10 to 1 armed with xacto knives?

You'd be blown right out of your shoes.

No training, no chain of command, no real weapons, no brains, no balls, no tactics, no egress plan.

Wow, good thing you didn't kill all those Police. They got very lucky.

unarmed protesters?

what do you call the people who slashed the officers? peace and love giving people?

I say shoot, you only need to do it once to show that attacking the police is not gonna fly... if they do it again, well then just goes to show that people with low IQs don't learn as fast...
