I thought that the link would be confusing. So, being that I am the unofficial #1 Dell fan, here's an answer from Dell's Knowledgebase...
support.ap.dell.com...

This link should be easier to understand.

Take a little time to read the specs...

Newegg.com link-
BenQ 16x DVD-/+RW Drive, Beige Model DW1610, Retail

Model# DW1610 BGE
Item # N82E16827101623

Specifications:
Write Speed: 16X DVD+R, 16X DVD-R, 4X DVD+RW, 4X DVD-RW, 40X CD-R, 24X CD-RW
Read Speed: 40X CD-ROM, 16X DVD-ROM

It reads all types of DVD discs (hence DVD-ROM) and writes to both + and - formats as well.

Now, I've never heard of Benq, so I'm not gonna say if they're good or bad, but $82 is not bad at ALL for a 4x-16x write DVD-based burner.

That's my 2 cents...
