I do not recall any legitimate source of information claiming that YU55 was going to hit earth or any Ancient Mayan prophecy describing an asteroid being involved with 11.11.11 or 2012. Please correct me if I am wrong. The latest inter-dimensional/ extraterrestrial news or potential BULL# I've heard is this Andromeda Council stuff and the Andrew D. Basiago Mars junk. Latest update is that dude Tolec saying they blew up another base in east chinese sea?? Someone get on that and look at seismic charts etc... Don't worry it'll be back in a little over a year. Then people can claim that it will actually hit Earth then and that all the fearmongering from this year was actually disinformation planted by NASA so no one would listen to those people trying to warn us on its next pass.

It will be back but it will be further away from Earth on that pass than it is now. The next one that will approach this close to us wont be until 2028. Of course there are always those sneaky ones that come from behind the sun that we might never see until its too late.

See that's the thing. Some people have a genuine belief and concern that something will happen and post their views and evidence supporting their claims only to get ridicule from some people, others agreeing wholeheartedly and some of us saying "could be possible I suppose".

Those are the threads I don't mind.

It's threads like this that are basically from debunkers using it as any excuse to gloat and point fingers that I despise because as you said, it's a waste of bandwidth and if nothing happens as someone thought then wouldn't it be better to ignore the issue and post a thread about something meaningful instead of making yourself look like a total tool in public with an "I told you so" thread that inevitably gains a cavalcade of stars and flags by other sheep-mentality people with nothing better to do?

Funny how the term "sheeple" is used as a derogatory term for those who don't use conspiracy websites and go about their normal lives and yet ATS is filled with more sheeple than you'll find in ANY big city.

I don't see where any apologies are needed, many do their best to bring what might be the truth to the forefront, whereas we get many lies and deception from The Powers That Be.

You know that even if the tiniest event happened yesterday all of the fearmongers would be on here claiming they were right. So, since absolutely nothing happened why don't those of us who have been trying to make people see reason since the very beginning get the same opportunity to say that we were right? I will agree though that there are a lot of sheople on here, but not who you expect. The sheople are those people who believe everything the alternative media and New Age authors say while rejecting any information that comes from an even slightly mainstream source. There are tons of people like that on here and it is reflected in the threads. Almost any time someone posts a thread predicting doom or ascension/consciousness shift/shift of Ages/etc. it gets a ton of stars and flags regardless of how much research they did. At the same time well sourced threads are posted that completely refute the other thread, but no one pays attention to them. People on here like to claim they're open minded, but they're just close minded in a different way. It doesn't matter how many fringe sources a person may read. If they reject conventional research simply because it's conventional it means they're close minded.

Look... Doomsday theories are fun to examine, for the metaphysical aspects of them are attractive. Our species has been on Earth for over 10,000 years. Humanity has been through the proverbial ringer. During our little blot of time on Earth, humanity has confronted the black plague, red plague, wars, and famine.

Regardless about how many times humanity tries to predict the end, they will always miss the overall point to our existence. You cannot control a massive geological event from happening. You cannot control the meteorites or asteroids roaming in space. You cannot directly control if someone fires off an atom bomb. When the reaper comes for our souls, there is very little preparation needed for the process. Your soul is either prepared for anything to happen, or you fear dieing because you haven't been a good human being.

Why worry about things in which you cannot control?

You can be hit by a train, car, or bus tomorrow morning. While you were looking for that massive meteorite to hit, the one event you are not looking for will ultimately get you.

As the passage I quoted above says, "Live life as a morally grounded member of humanity, for you do not know when and where the end will arrive." Its going to happen regardless about if you are looking.

Live your life to the fullest.
