Does one become concerned about a nuclear weapons program only at the point when the main reactor is about to go critical?

Every leader of any nation has to have some friends. A dictator cannot rise to power, let alone stay in power for over 40 years, unless they were able to win over at least a few hearts in minds. If every single person thought Qadafi were the world's biggest jerk, nobody would follow him and he would have been a hermit rather than the leader of a nation.

That being said, Qadafi as a leader of a nation, from time to time had to have said things that were persuasive and could win people over. In fact, his powers of persuasion should at the very least be better than the typical car salesman. Should we be surprised that Qadafi left behind a few good speeches? Of course not.

Let us not focus on his speeches, but on his actions. Despite being able to spit out a good speech on occasion, the man did some bad things.

Sure, Gadaffi didn't kill millions, but he was still a brutal dictator and his positive socialist policies do not change that. In the same way Hitlers positive socialist policies - and there are many, if we're to be mature adults here - did not excuse his barbaric acts.

Gadaffi however well intentioned was a fruit loop and you tread dangerous territory by making a martyr out of him. I'm not so much against the statements of facts Muzzle is making - many of which I happen to agree with - but the language he's using and the way he's using it.

There are many brutal men with good things to be said about them. It's disingenuous to point out the good aspects of Gaddafi and paint him as a victim of Western interests and imperialism while omitting the many things about him which made him crazy and hypocritical.

That's all I'm saying. I wasn't trying to say that muzzle is a NAzi, but rather to say that you could justify many an evil brute with many of the positive qualities muzzle is putting on Gaddafi, and equally you can attribute their same death or political defeat to Western imperialism and interest.

I can take muzzles post and replace, quite fairly, Gaddafis name with any number of dictators and mass murderers.
