In that video he said there is no place to go for vets after the war....the benefits ive received for serving are in insane...college paid for...bonus points on my applications...an advantage for the state of mind and job training i received with the military....I just found out I received a whole 2nd wave of college money for being part of operation enduring freedom.....wtf more does this guy want for vets?

I guess all the commie protesters don't care if i go to war and kill as long as i say its in their best intrest.
This guys whole mentality seems to be that he doesn't believe in what there out there for but he would kill and may have for their right to be out there.

Heres your headline "ows protesters condone killing to ensure they have the right to protest.
I wonder if he will be out there recruiting them for the army today to go fight so i have the right to say this crap?

That is a great video.

My point is that if guys like this start to question the lies before them and find the truth that they have been used that is when tptb have real problems on their hands. It really sucks to learn that your a tool.

You know, I could agree with this guys message even though I believe yelling like a crazy person in the street doesn't really help your cause.

However, I keep seeing comments about how this guy stood down the NYC police, or how the cops wimped out and would have been more aggressive had he been a small guy, etc ...

Really?

First, many NYC police are vets themselves. NYPD likes to get them as soon as they get out.

Secondly, do you think there are no other big guys in NY? The cops just let 'em run wild because they're to wimpy to control them? Got some news for you, if the cops wanted to this guy would have been subdued and cuffed fairly quickly. The cops deal with gang bangers, murderers, crazy crack and meth heads, and generally the scum of society all of the rest of us get to NOT deal with because of them. I'm absolutely sure they weren't afraid of this guy, they just let him have his rant and pretty much ignored him so long as all he did was rant.

I can't say I know all the cops in the city, that would be ridiculous, but I will say I've never met a NYC cop that was a wimp. Maybe a corrupt a-hole here and there, but not one that wouldn't crack your head if you physically challenged them.

Now before some smart ass starts ... yes I do live in NYC and have my whole life, Brooklyn specifically -- I'm not a cop -- I have dealt with some corrupt POS cops before as well as some really good ones. They are in a tough position with these protests because they do have to respect the rights of the protesters but must also protect the rights of those NOT protesting who have to get around, work, or live in the various areas these protests are taking place.

I know the type that make up a certain percentage of these protesters. They're the type that will push and push and push, then provoke until they get a reaction then cry about how they were abused. They'll scream "pigs" in a cops face and spit on him but when the cop reacts it's police brutality ... and they'll be sure to have their buddy there with his iPhone to capture it (or just the end part anyway) so they can run to youtube and cry.

I usually DO NOT side with the police, I've seen enough, however as far as these protests go I think they are handling it well. With this many people crammed in such a small area there is going to be a problem here and there, and the cops will inevitably get into it with someone who will UNDOUBTEDLY accuse them of brutality while painting themselves as poor innocent bystanders.

Anyway, I've strayed off topic. Point is the guy wasn't wrong but did kind of look foolish yelling about brutality and a war zone while the cops were just walking by not doing anything.

1 guy yelling at 30 cops and they don't dare and try anything - that he is black and they are white makes it so much better.

If this had been some guy without cameras walking down the street back talking a couple of cops he would be in a little jar in a hole some where now.

Personally I don't care if he served or is a cia plant or Barrack Obama's Kenyan father I am just glad that someone took the opportunity to stand up to whatever craziness he believes in.

This is freedom, however brief and if the nature of the conversation or topic is lost on you it doesn't matter this man said what he wanted to whom he wanted and they had only two choices listen or leave.

I wish more people would fight instead of flight the country would tilt back towards freedom.

Much respect for him and his service even if the war in Iraq is a unjust and phony war.

More respect for him standing up for the protestors and mentioning the cops punching
that woman in the face who had not assaulted any cop.

All I ask is the vets not engage in violence because that will be used as a trigger
for an escalation by the cops and others.

I am not going to the protests because I do not want my name on a list, but I respect those
with the courage to go in the face of the secret lists being made.

Good Luck to all the good ppl !!!

All our names are already on that "list" if we read or even reply to threads such as this. It's called text support

I just thought I would post this page of oathkeepers for reference in regard to OWS.

Oath Keepers has an assessment of what is currently happening in America regarding the “Occupy Wall Street” movement, which is spreading. On Tuesday, October 04, 2011, we came up with a plan, a new initiative which shall be Oath Keepers’ response to the demonstrations billed as “Occupy Wall Street”.

Our initiative is to place Oath Keepers’ message of Constitutionality in front of the demonstrators who show up at the rallies.

Oath Keepers is not involved in the leadership of “Occupy Wall Street”, but we have a keen interest in some subtle forces at play in all this, and we have a plan for countering those forces

Oath Keepers notes that certain forces (socialists and Marxists) are attempting to co-opt their awakening by pointing a finger at Wall Street and using the very real and well documented corruption there, which is certainly obvious to all, to attack “capitalism”. They are using the sins of corporatism, a.ka. crony capitalism, to attach the ideal of a free market and economic freedom in general, in order to persuade our youth that socialism (a soft form of communism) is to be preferred over the madhouse tactics of berserk corporate America, or, “Wall Street”. They are presenting them a false choice between fascism (which is the proper name for a marriage between big government and big business) and Marxism, while totally ignoring the free market and sound money that our Constitutional Republic is supposed to have.

This is a lie being sold to our nation’s youth. Oath Keepers intends to redirect that lie back to the truth, which is the fact that the Federal Reserve is at the heart of the problem and without the Fed the bad boys of Wall Street could not do so much damage to our country.

oathkeepers.org...

That being said, I respect this marine's love for American citizens and believe him to be sincere.

Thank you for posting this, as I stated early the more people with a positive message involved the better. OWS has been transformed by all kinds of things into perceptions as differing as the people involved by media and word of mouth the OWS movement has reached me in my neck of the woods it seems more like occupy everywhere I will be in uniform when I get a day off to support those that support positive change. Semper

As a Vet and news producer for our local cable access channel, I was astonished to see a huge military presence supporting OWS.

Even with the rabid insults and derision from the Right wing; apparently the vets and active duty guys can see thru the BS.

I tend to agree with you through other parties as well, I mentioned before I have a friend with C-Birf that was there and he said similar things to me outside of why they were there of course but through other vets and active/ guardsmen talking to him on the street. Also I remember the attitude of senior marines during my first tour of iraq in fallujah back in 04 and I remember them even questioning the whys and often met with the Marines get the job done, not make commentary ask why. And now it seems all of those guys email me and ask if I am going to one as they have at least some of them in uniform, strange world these days for sure.
